Mayweather: "Forget Leonard, I'm Greatest"
As the show moved through Manchester, England, Floyd Mayweather shouted to the world: "Forget Leonard and the rest, I'm the greatest boxer who ever lived."
Ricky Hatton took issue with this and took Floyd to task. Very calmly Hatton said Floyd was disrespectful and said "I can do something about it." What he really meant was, "I don't care if he is just trying to sell a fight, this punk needs his ass kicked."
Well done, Ricky. You are exactly right. It doesn't matter if Floyd is the best defensive fighter in the game, he needs a lesson. It would be good for him. Maybe by getting off the canvas for once in his life and making a come back, Floyd can truly make the claim as "the greatest" and earn "real" fans in the process. What I mean by "real" fans, are fans that understand that their man is a human being, and is worthy of the adulation. Mayweather's fringe base are a defensive and close minded lot. He's alienated all but the most extreme and put even his closest supporters in a corner, because of his conduct and big, SPOILED, mouth.
Yeah, I understand trying to attract attention and sell a fight. I understand trying to win the mental game with Hatton. But, this is not the way to do it. It's bad for business. Ali learned the hard way in his first fight against Frazier. Ali insured that Frazier truly disliked him before that fight. Ali created a monster. He never did that again.
Floyd, if you're out there, I speak for alot of people who really want to have a reason to root for you. C'mon bro, show us you're the man. I mean a real man.

Maybe he does need a reality check of such? Problem is, i can't see any fighter out there giving him one.

You having a problem with what he said won't change the outcome of the fight. How about you put all your points up on who wins.
