One of the things I hate about articles like this and writers like this is they will spend a significant amount of time criticizing and finding fault with guys like Mayweather, but will not say a positive word about them if their lives depended on it. I agree that Mayweather acts like a fool and I don't like his behavior related to his opponents. However, what the clown who wrote this article failed to mention was that Mayweather does a lot of positive charity work also. He also failed to mention that, in spite of his trash talk, Mayweather has beaten every opponent he has faced, including four ring magazine champions. If Mayweather wins this fight, but this writer/hater won't give him any credit. He will ridiculous nitpicky things to criticize him for, like Mayweather didn't fight toe to toe or Mayweather fought a boring fight for 12 rounds even though he won every round or Mayweather should have knocked Hatton out or something equally ******. I have no problem with the criticism as long as the writer is fair and gives credit where credit is due. That won't happen in this writer, even if Mayweather knocks Hatton out with the first punch he throws.

ATTENTION BARLOG, this is an insightful argument. Read it over and over again. You seem to just want to rile people up, not make them think about what you have to say. If you truly want things to get better, start by being someone who people will listen to and respect (please see Dr. Martin Luther King and Malcom X). I have been fighting my whole life for equality for all people and people like you only set up more road blocks.

In response to the post above, I agree that reaction to black athletes can sometimes be more severe than to white athletes and that is ashame, but to compare what Michael Vick did to hunters is a stretch. Michael Vick had abused and terrified dogs in order to get them to fight each other so people could bet, then when a dog lost he killed the dogs in a de****able manner. Hunting, for food that is, on the other hand, is an interesting topic. I use to feel the way that you do about hunting, but then i became a vegetarian and started to read about hunting. An animal killed by a hunter is much more humanely treated and killed than an animal that is killed on a factory farm (which most animals that we buy at the supermarket are). That being said, hunting purely for sport could be compared with Michael Vick.

And you've see him a couple of time flashing his money. And throwing a few hundreds to people. Which is **** for a muli-millionaire. And I wasn't specifically talking to you.

How can you judge someone's relationship with their father? You didn't grow up with them. I don't think you realize sometimes a father can do some ****ed up things to his kid when their little. And it stays with you. They probably had a major issue. So I can't really say Floyd is disrespectful. **** if my dad wasn't around either why I respect him? (if that's the case)

And then what's the point of bring Vick or OJ in this? I don't see the reasoning.

I would certainly enjoy my success if I was in Mayweather's shoes, although I am perfectly content to enjoy my own success in life. I think the difference between myself and floyd (besides the obvious millions that he has) is what I consider to be a life worth living for, and the ability to be content by experiencing joy in an entirely different set of values.

How can I judge Floyd's relationship with his father? You sort of have point there, but come on, we KNOW they have problems. Didn't Floyd kick his father out of his own house not long before the Corralles fight? That is pretty ****ty.

From what I know, most of Floyd's anger at his dad seems to be based on two factors; one is that is angry with his father for going to jail when he was a teenager, missing some very important years of his life, and then his father trying to just pick up where he left off once he returned from jail. Two he feels his father was always too harsh in demanding discipline, which would result in being a gym-rat and not having the opportunity to enjoy other things. Okay, I can and do sympathise with those factors, but Floyd wouldn't be living the lifestyle he currently enjoys so much had that not actually happened.

As for why I mentioned Vick or O.J....I think it should be obvious. They are both African-Americans that have been in the headlines recently, certainly nothing positive in the attention they have recieved. I think what Vick did to the dogs is deplorable and I wont be feeling sorry for him at all. I think O.J. brutally killed two people and benifited from his fame and money to walk away and play golf to his heart's content. The fact that both of these guys are black DOES NOT make me like them less, it DOES NOT make me more angry at them.

What it is with these critics is subconciesly they cannot stand to see black men to be rich.There lead to believe all their lives that there better then
black people ,so if they like an ordinary person who works a regular 9-5 and they see a black person doing better then them like being ****** rich,Its like a blow to their ego,They feel really low/horrible cause a black person doing better them makes them feel is lower then dirt.

Its a horrible feeling for them to feel lower then a black person,that is why they get so mad when they see a black person that does`nt act like a robot,and is ****y,disrespects his opponents but at the same time these same critics hold fighters of other races to a different standard when they do the same thing,Example Mayorga and Cotto recently.

It reminds them that a black person who they feel is better then them is ****** rich while that person whose doing all the critisizing has to hit the alarm clock every morning.

Its all racism ya`ll.But not to the extreme.

They want black people to be humble so they are not reminded that some black folks are doing better then them.

This is pretty funny to read, but then it gets a bit scary to think that you might have really convinced yourself to believe these things, and how that may effect your interactions with others.

Speaking out and taking a stand against real racism is important to making a better society. If you mentioned anything that is legit, I regret that I missed it. However, merely lashing out WITH racism at everything you PERCEIVE to be racism is just being a jerk.
