totally agree.. mayweathers speed, accuracy and timing, combined with okay power, does mean he hits harder then given credit for..

he made dela hoya shaky on a couple of occasions, which not many has done.

if you take a look at the other fighters at 147, perhaps only cintron has one punch ko power. margarito, williams and cotto are fighters who wears you down.

im not saying mayweather hits as hard as cotto, but when floyd sits down on his punches i rate him as 8. to bad he often choses not to do so.

6 at 147. Good enough to keep people honest. Not good enough to really knock people out. He could stop Hatton, but he'd have to land a lot of those crisp right hands before that happens.

Yeah one would think he's have to hit Ricky at least 200+ times .... (bearing a really grusome cut I would almost have to rule out a Mayweather win by TKO)

but Addison you concur that he wobbled Oscar with that uppercut in the 5th ... and MIGHT of been able to get a kayo

so how do you think Hatton will react to his punches? considering Ricky's face bruises much easier than Oscar's.

and of course the defense of Oscar >Hatton .. thats not even debatable really.

I mean sure Hatton could walk through Kostya's punches .. but I would think Floyd will be able to keep Hatton a bit more honest .. considering he staggered Oscar at 154. (if he wants to win, PBF will have to keep throwing if Hatton is really all up in his grill)

but consider this .. being 5'6 and weighing 150 on fight night is a bigger advantage at 140 .. than being 5'6 and 150 at Welterweight.

Didn't he fight Sharmba Mitchell at 147? He TKO'd him with a body shot but was landing plenty of head shots earlier and really to no avail.

I rate him about a 5. He can cut you...but he wont have you hurt to the point where you lose your motor skills completely. He doesn't even have that power at 140.

            W-38 KO-24.

            I'd say he's a 7 in punching power.
Who knows? If he'd pay more attention to offense
vs defense maybe he would have shown more latent
power in his hands and his KO record would have
            been much better.

He seems to enjoy schooling his opponents defensively too much.

Good points. ^ I don't disagree with a single word.

Facial damage is major concern for Hatton.

The shot Mayweather landed on De La Hoya is exactly the type of punch Ricky Hatton could fall victim too. Repeatedly. Specifically, I think Mayweather is extremely capable of hurting Hatton.

However, my overwhelming feeling is that Hatton is going to come into the ring so charged up it will take a sledgehammer to knock him out.

Even if Floyd drops Ricky he's going to get back up and keep coming.

Mayweather is naturally averse to physical fights. Hatton is going to remove Floyd from his comfort zone and I think that's all the difference he'll need.

Will Floyd outclass him the entire time? It's definately a possibilty..

Honestly, I've got alot of questions for this fight. Style wise it's a bad match up for Floyd and although the contingent that believes that Hatton was avoiding Mayweather for the last several years has been more effective at proving their argument; I believe Frank Warren wholeheartedly when he says that the Mayweather camp wasn't too keen on the matchup in 05'.

Mayweather has to know that Hatton is his stylistic nemesis.

I've picked Hatton to win. But Floyd's willingness and enthusiasm to take this fight has me wondering what he sees and what he has in mind..

Hatton's best gamble for the victory is to go kamikaze - but is that the wisest thing against the ultra clever Mayweather? Definately not.

              On paper.

There is alot of mystery surrounding this fight IMO, and I don't think anyone who is being completely honest with themselves has all the answers.

If Hatton has the greatest night of his life he can win.

With a fireplug like him I believe his greatest challenge will be his greatest effort - and that has little to do with Ricky's own propaganda.

Who's the noob that gave him 9/10? They're obviously thinking of Kermit Cintron instead.

He did have that power at 140... he hurt Corley badly numerous times and knocked Bruseles out.

Otherwise, I do agree with you. I voted for 5. He only has 2 knockdowns at 147, both against Sharmba Mitchell. One was a head shot that just knocked Sharmba off balance, who made a joking gesture to his corner about leaving himself off, and mouthed "I know." He obviously wasn't hurt. The second knockdown was a great looking body shot that Floyd put his whole body into. You don't need a ton of power to knock someone out with an accurate body shot.

I would say about a 7, enough to where he can evntually wear you down and get a tko that way. It should be enough to keep hatton at bay and take him out in the later rounds. Am I the only one that realizes Hatton knows he isn't going to win rounds, so he is definitely going to go for the kill.
