This is boxing, not ballet. What he is saying is accurate and appropriate, given the circumstance. If Dawson wants a trainer that will not instill anything of value and doesn't care if he loses, whatever. Everyone's training style is not for everyone. However, Sr. is a great trainer and only one who is soft can not appreciate a trainer trying to prevent them from being annihilated, would take issue with being told the truth about themselves. Regardless of how the trainer speaks said truth, truth it will still be.

He does need to stop cursing so much though.

"my son ain't got no ******ation in him, my son is not ******ed"

Many here could make a legit argument against that....

But seriously, that whole article was awesome.

I have never been in the gym with or worked with Mayweather so I don't know if he is a great trainer or not..but for people on here to say he or anyone is a great trainer when you probably actually dont have any more knowledge of their training THAN SOMEONE THAT HAS NEVER EVEN HEARD OF THEM. Putting it another way, you can't say someone is a great trainer just because you have been told that by other people. I have seen many people who were supposed to be this or that but then you are in the gym or the corner with them and you realize...things arent always as they seem. I can tell you one example for sure...I had a friend who was trained for part of his career by a man who is still to this day known as one of the most legendary trainers in boxing history. Yet my friend, who was an accomplished boxer, told me that the guy was not all that he was cracked up to be and that it was a big wake up call. Many trainers that have great knowledge and skills, do not get their chance to show it.there are A LOT OF circumstances involved, that's all. The best trainers arent always the ones that are touted in the media as such. Just food for thought.

My budd Kayjay keeps telling me I give FMSR. to much credit for Dawson, I will have to agree with him on that. Dawson succeeded before Predator joined him and he will continue succeed.

well, all i no is that before handshaw fought RJJ mayweather was talking big KO smackand people on here was saying that mayweather in the corner was going to make it happen. And rj turned back the clock and dropped handshaw in the process. where was the maywether magic that night, huh?

He's not predator anymore, Skills. He chopped the locks off. LOL.

Scully, you make a great point regarding the media opinion and personal knowledge of someone. My cousin has worked with Sr. and Emmanuel Steward. He's just turning pro. Guess my opinions are more based on his personal experience with Sr. However, I have not seen him (Sr.) in action, so what you state still applies to myself, I guess.

Well most people go on the basis of what you have accomplished. He can be a great trainer but not click or work well with certain fighters. Hell he has trained some of the best boxers on this earth and trained the pound for pound best boxer in the world, so we can give him the benefit of the doubt as to being a good trainer. Not every boxer and every trainer will gel so maybe that legendary coach and your freind weren't a "match made in heaven" so to speak, that doesn't make him less of a trainer though.
