Can a bodyshot be effective in a street fight?

I have ended quite a few street encounters with a single hard hook to the liver.

Nobody ever sees it coming. It doesn't matter how big you are or how tough you think you are, a well placed body punch is going to put you on the ground, especially when it catches you off guard.

I try to avoid hitting people in the face because it is a sure fire way to break your hands.

never been in an actual street fight, but id guess itd be good. When i used to box i got hit in the body a lot and it kills if it lands right, ur gasping for air. seems like a good idea.

probably a better idea to just go head hunting, cause the fights only last like 30 seconds

Theres no doubt a bare fisted punch to the ribs would hurt like hell, and possibly take the guy out. But it just seems too risky to me. You expose yourself when you throw a hook to the body. I'd rather throw straight punches to the face.

do you think itd be good to go to the body in a street fight? or it wouldnt do anything at all?

I drop a dude b4 with a bodyshot in a streetfight. BUT!! Make sure if if you throw a right or left hook to the body that you right or left hand is covering your face bacuse most body punchers get hit upstairs alot Cotto style!

yeh i guess it could b effective but for some reason, it seems like a body shot with a boxing glove will hurt more then a body shot witout a glove..

Why would you expose your mouth to aim at someone's belly? Man if I could bite both of my fists and chew them like a rubber ducky on top of a mouthpiece to absorb shock I would.

You can charge in with a stance sort of like Winky or Tyson. I much rather go for the body then the head
