It is popularly believed that Meldrick Taylor was never the same physically or professionally after the bout. Dr. Flip Homansky, who examined Taylor following the fight and immediately sent him to the hospital, summarized his injuries by saying "Meldrick suffered a facial fracture, he was urinating pure blood, his face was grotesquely swollen... this was a kid who was truly beaten up to the face, the body, and the brain".
Is there any retired fighter who can come back and succeed?

This thread turned from return of greats to one of the saddest stories in boxing history...oddly enough I was just watching legendary nights.Comment

Change to title of your thread to "Meldrick Taylor 101" lol. Seriously though, let's get this ****er back on track.
I think Lennox Lewis could make a decent comeback and probably win a title from one of the lesser champs.Comment
