Seems to me like you want to go tit for tat, and I've got nothing better to do at the moment so I'm game.

Your entire argument is that Pacquiao is keeping the sport of boxing, and I quote here "alive son". So by that assumption you're saying without Pacquiao, it'd die? Or even dwindle? I'm sorry dude but with Calzaghe/Kessler, Cotto/Mosley, Hatton/Mayweather, Holyfield/Ibragimov, Klitschko/McCline, Pavlik/Taylor, and so many other great fights coming up, I disagree.

Not to mention the great fights that have already happened this year and made this year one of the best in recent memory. If Pacquiao disappeared this year would still be the best in recent memory because the best are fighting the best.

I've been watching boxing since I was 5 years old, I'm almost 22 now so that's 17 years total. I've watched hundreds of fights live, and I can't count the number of times I've been in the arena for a big fight. I would estimate I have seen about 12-15 total fights live and in the arena.

I'm not comparing boxing chops to an unarmed man.

also these arent only my words......... when i sat behind Larry Merchant, and my boys from another boxing site they all said the same thing. that its guys like Pac Man and Cotto that are keeping the sport ALIVE. we talking ALIVE not to the hard core fans but to the fans who may not normally watch the sport. and believe me a person who is not interested in boxing will certainly be more turned off after watching a 12rounder of the ugly boring horendous B-Hop. again its because of people like him having 20 boring wack defenses in such a horendous manner that the sport has suffered so much.

This is an exercise in futility. The fights I've been to that you would know about are probably very limited as they were not all very hugh PPV box office extravaganzas. I used to go to the Philadelphia Spectrum constantly as a child and watch guys fight, there I saw Bernard Hopkins vs Wendall Hall, Arturo Gatti vs. Richard Salazar, etc... All of which had plenty of great fighters but none of which were on PPV, so I guess you "owned me" there.

The biggest fight I've seen since moving out of Philly, was Tyson/Lewis in Memphis. Which was a huge event.

I also travelled with my brother to D.C in '94 for Jones/Hopkins.

You'll never hear me argue that guys like Miguel Cotto and Manny Pacquiao aren't great for the sport. I just took issue with the "keeping it alive" statement, because it was never dead to begin with thanks to the diehards. There's no question that those two guys have generated a lot of hype and buzz, and probably gotten a lot of casuals to follow the sport. I also think honorable mention in that list should go to Kermit Cintron.

While he's not the star that a Pacquiao or Cotto is, he's generated a lot of hype and casual fans who've seen him know of his KO power, and word of mouth spreads fast. If Cintron is able to establish himself as a star the way Pac and Cotto did, he could be the #3 most exciting guy in the sport.

PBF was about to fight at a smaller casino outside of LA but it looks like he wont be fighting the smaller venues for awhile ahahhaa

i will say this POSITIVELY about B-HOP tho. no other fighter i can think of has more DISCIPLINE when it comes to training and conditioning and more so DIET when in training and when not even in training than B-HOP. the man is like a MACHINE! to be in the shape that he is for the last 25years consistenly.

man thats inspiring. and he has never had a philly cheese steak let alone a cookie in over 30years. GOD DAMN id never be able to do that lol

I miss Philly everday, if for nothing more, the fight culture there. Instead of posting on here so much, I'd be at the damn Spectrum cheering my ass off. And I agree about Cintron as well, I think he has all the potential he needs to become another top draw with Steward in his corner.
