Obviosuly you never watched Hopkins in his prime when his style was more of a "seek and destroy" than the tactical style he has now, which is more fitting to a 42 year old BTW.ummmmmmm no u r ******ed boxing dies when BORING doosh bags like BORING-HOP remain champ for like 20 consecutive wins all by boring asss horendous decisions. b-hop didnt get all of asia into boxing again. b-hop didnt win over even the hard core mexican fans to cheer on someone who wasnt from their home country. now u see my point?
So Pacquiao got Asia into boxing, I thought Penalosa did that? If I do remember correctly Muay Thai is still the number 1 choice sport in that Continent. What superstars has Manny been directly responsible for producing or getting the spotlight on? Rey Bautista?
Why are you still attacking Hopkins. Pacquiao is better than Hopkins because he was able to get Morales' fans to like him? Whoa, I see your point now. I'll take 20 consecutive titles defenses, being the first man to ever move from Milldeweight up to Light Heavyweight and win the crown, and being on every "top 100" list compiled by the experts over winning over someone else's fans anyday.
Your point is flawed, your rebuttle is puke, and this amounts to nothing more than you comparing Pacquiao to Hopkins. End of discussion, let the thread get back on topic.Comment

yeah BHop in his prime was good, i hate him now though, not because of his boringness but because of his personaillty and style...
and yeah hop>pacquiao, whose only really big accomplishment is KOing Barrera(and no, beating an over the hill morales doesnt count...not after the raheem fight...)....i stilll love the pac man's persnality though, he is a good guy...Comment

Oh no doubt. Pacquiao is an awesome fighter and a very humble, great guy. But as far as accomplishment goes there is no comparison. I hated watching him fight Wright, that bored the piss out of me but other than that he's alright in my book. He has good nights (like Tarver) and bad nights (like Wright).yeah BHop in his prime was good, i hate him now though, not because of his boringness but because of his personaillty and style...

On a side note, I always find myself in agreeance with you....if you were to tell me the sky was red, and word it very well, I'd probably agree with that one too.Comment

ummmmmmmmmmm we arent comparing pac man to b-hop in that sense we are comparing them in who's keeping boxing ALIVE son. theres a difference. B-Hop if anything hurts boxing from reaching the casual not hard core fans who would not normally be interested in boxing.Oh no doubt. Pacquiao is an awesome fighter and a very humble, great guy. Name another career Middleweight who stayed at Middleweight for over 10 years, moved to Light Heavyweight and won the title in their first attempt. That's something not even "Suagr" Ray Robinson did when he faced Joey Maxim.
Seems to me like you want to go tit for tat, and I've got nothing better to do at the moment so I'm game.ummmmmmmmmmm we arent comparing pac man to b-hop in that sense we are comparing them in who's keeping boxing ALIVE son. theres a difference. Your entire argument is that Pacquiao is keeping the sport of boxing, and I quote here "alive son". So by that assumption you're saying without Pacquiao, it'd die? Or even dwindle? I'm sorry dude but with Calzaghe/Kessler, Cotto/Mosley, Hatton/Mayweather, Holyfield/Ibragimov, Klitschko/McCline, Pavlik/Taylor, and so many other great fights coming up, I disagree.
Not to mention the great fights that have already happened this year and made this year one of the best in recent memory. If Pacquiao disappeared this year would still be the best in recent memory because the best are fighting the best.
I've been watching boxing since I was 5 years old, I'm almost 22 now so that's 17 years total. I've watched hundreds of fights live, and I can't count the number of times I've been in the arena for a big fight. I would estimate I have seen about 12-15 total fights live and in the arena.
I'm not comparing boxing chops to an unarmed man.Comment
