i dont know too much about current boxers, ive only been following for like two years. im sure you guys have discussed this before, but do you think anyone can beat floyd mayweather?
my ex-boyfriend got me into boxing and my favorite is oscar dela hoya; since mayweather beat oscar, is there anyone else who maybe could beat him?
sure he can be beaten.
he's a human being not a machine and EVERY human (in one way or another) is flawed...no human is perfect.
There is only 2 ways mayweather will not be beaten...he retires early or he never does fight the fighter who can beat him.
Almost every great has been beaten...(excluding marciano...but he just never fought the guy who could beat him).
The guy that could beat mayweather could have just turned pro yesterday or it could be hatton...or it could be a current 147 division fighter that no one is giving a chance.
I know there are fighters that can give him trouble but you cant say who can beat who because the truth is once that bell rings anyone can come out victorious and all it takes is one good move (by the opponent) or one mistake (by mayweather) and the fight could change dramatically.
Dont be fooled mayweather is a great fighter and wont be a walk in the park or anyone but he can be beaten and (in my opinion) being the first person to beat a fighter who is undefeated is one of the toughest challenges because it makes it easier for future fighters who can look back on the footage and study EXACTLY HOW the guy prior to him was able to exploit the flaws of mayweather.
in time he will be beaten (unless he retires prematurely or never fights the guy who can beat him).
so in my opinion ANYONE CAN beat anyone but you have to be perfect on that night...
Example: Buster Douglas was a 20:1 underdog when he fought tyson and he was able to not only beat tyson but knock him out...
was it miracle? of course not...he was just able to exploit tyson's flaws and capitalize. it was the greatest victory of his career (in my opinion) and it just goes to show you that just because someone appears to be a huge underdog or the other person seems unbeatable they CAN be beaten.
all in time...
by the way...if oscar was in his prime he would have proved beyond a shadow of a doubt he beat mayweather (even though i believe oscar did win the fight i think it would prove it to those who oppose)
Mario Kindelan in his prime in a 4 rounder at either 130 and 135. Serafim Todorov who is actually from my home country who beat him in Atlanta in the semifinal but he can never beat him in a professional fight. But it has to be either Cuban or Russian from their amateur boxing programs.
God, I thought you were going to post that ****ing video of Floyd sparring with Spadafora, and I was about to give someone some red karma.
Did Todorov ever go pro?
Yeah, he did, he was always a drunk though and he was way past it when he turned. His career I beleieve was short lived and he was nothing special.
Watching the fight on video it's all Floyd. The only way I can explain why the judges gave it to Todorov is 1)they don't count body shots which is in fact the case in amateur boxing2) serafim used to be good at slipping at the last moment by just twisting his head to the side so the punch may appear to hit him but on a closer look or from ringside that is not the case.
