Why are people so impressed with Michael Katsidis?

First off, nobody said anything about a future legend. He's a very exciting fighter and could have a potentially bright future but nobody said he'd be a legend, only time will prove that. Besides, whats not to like about a guy who comes out strong and finishes strong? I will be the first to agree that his defense needs improvement but let's say he perfects the jab and becomes a little more elusive, this kid could be un-****withable. Let's not forget he hits like a brick **** house too. As much as it sucks for Amonsot, Katsidis did end his career due to the punishment he dished out to Czar. That's why everyone is excited about this guy. There is potential in him and he's already displayed that he can brawl. Let the kid polish up before you denounce him.

Yeah katsidis is an extremly entertaining fighter who hits hard and has great heart. As said before if his defence picks up and he learns how to throw straight punches then he could be real good.
I'd favour him agaisnt juan diaz as he has a great heart and as diaz likes to fight inside he could hurt diaz as he hits far far harder.

He puts everything on the table to win the fight and put on a show, and I commend him for that.

Exciting fighters always get fans, he is definitley the definition of excitement at this point and time.

No ones shouting the HOF or greatness, I think we're just excited there's some new blood in the sport with an entertaining style. Sure, he's got floors: The Absence of a jab is alarming and his defense is a bit under developed, but with a bit of work, a new trainer, he'll give anyone trouble in the lightweight division. He's blessed with power, which is one of the best assets you can have as a fighter.

The bad thing is Katsidis is a good fighter, but not as good as everyone is saying. Its because he won a fight in the States. From an Australian point of view, Anthony Mundine is a lot better than Michael, a more complete boxer. but no one gives a **** because he doesn't fight in the USA. Sad, but its true.
