Why are people so impressed with Michael Katsidis?

Guy gets cut up and everyone is actin like he is a future legend. Dude is sloppy and isn't that good. **** this guy. Stop rating him so highly you fools. His fight didn't show much heart. I could see if he was getting his ass beat and was all cut up but continued, then you could say he had heart but dude was already winning so of course he'd continue even with the cuts. you idiots.

he's extremely exciting, and already this year has participated in two contenders for FOTY.

And Czar Amonsot was a MUCH more skilled a polished fighter, yet Katsidis dominated him. He uses his tremendous will to overcome his skill disadvantage, and that wins over fans easily.

People are just excited cause he's gonna be in some great fights soon. Nobody's saying he's a great fighter.

And he had 3 cuts, two over the same eye, bleeding profusely, and u can bet he couldnt see a thing out of that eye... thats a Tremendous show of heart. Especially since he was thouroughly outboxed in rounds 3 and 4 and came back vicously

man try playin any sport w/ bleeding bruised knees and elbows and im sure you might quit. his cuts were way more dangerous than bruises. he sure have heart but i agree he's still a bit sloppy, he gets caught a lot. he also lacks a little stamina, he only fights in bursts and rests half of the rounds in the later rounds. but when he develops more of his defense, then he'll be up there w/ the best.

theyre impressed because hes exciting, duh!

even if he never becomes a top fighter, who gives a ****, its fun to have an Arturo Gatti type of guy around.

fighters with that intensity can also pull out wins over top guys if they can lure the person into a full out brawl too, so they can get ranked. Even if they do get ****d by the top TOP guys when it gets down to it.

I guess people need an underdog type guy to root for. The fight was entertaining but It wasnt really my definition of exciting. I was actually rooting for the other guy because he was a little more polished.

The only thing that impressed me was that when the fight was close to getting stopped, he went out there and tried to knock the guy out for the win, he showed he knew what was on the line, and you always have to like that.

First off, nobody said anything about a future legend. He's a very exciting fighter and could have a potentially bright future but nobody said he'd be a legend, only time will prove that. Besides, whats not to like about a guy who comes out strong and finishes strong? I will be the first to agree that his defense needs improvement but let's say he perfects the jab and becomes a little more elusive, this kid could be un-****withable. Let's not forget he hits like a brick **** house too. As much as it sucks for Amonsot, Katsidis did end his career due to the punishment he dished out to Czar. That's why everyone is excited about this guy. There is potential in him and he's already displayed that he can brawl. Let the kid polish up before you denounce him.
