I counted Sturm as a big fight only in the sense that it was his MW debut.

I think Oscar is a very good fighter. An "A minus" fighter.

Pernell, chavez, and vargas were toast. Quartey - you are right. Ike is Oscar's best win.

That is the one very good, prime fighter that Oscar beat.

Bioth were excellent fighters but the pick goes to ODLH.Oscar started at 130 and went up to 160; Tito started at 147 and went up to 160. Tito was a ko machine at 147 beating good fighters such as Oba Carr , human pez dispenser Yory Boy Campas and beaten by Oscar 2 yrs earlier P.Whitaker. Those are the standouts in his campaign at welter; i don't count his victory over ODLH because he did not win that fight. At 154 he beat and ruined Reid and vargas. At 160 he beat joppy and ww mayorgas and then was humiliated by Hopkins and Wright.

The story with Oscar is the following ,he made undefeated prime G.Hernadez quit and crushed prime R.Ruelas , beat Chavez and then made him quit,beat undefeated 2 division champ MA gonzalez,beat Whitaker,Quartey,Trinidad(115-113) he lost to Mosley 1st fight(115-113) then avenged that loss beating Mosley the 2nd time (115-113), shut Vargas up and was lucky to win the Sturm fight. He was KO'd by Hopkins and the Mayweather fight is still hard for me to score. The conclusion to this post is this, Oscar fought and beat more quality guys than trinidad and was never blowned out in a fight like Trinidad was against Wright and Hopkins.

I understand that. But your stat is deceptive. Hopkins had to do a Shilstone program to move up to 175.

For the BULK of their careers, ODLH and OSCAR fought 6-13 pounds apart. ONE division in the classic days, and 1 or 2 today. DLH and BHop weighed in same for their fight, and were prolly five lbs apart on fight night.

By contrast, PBF always fought 2-3 weight classes below Oscar. In fact, Floyd fought Jesus Chavez at 130 in late 2001. Several months earlier, Oscar beat Castillejo at 154. When Oscar moved to MW, FMJ moved up to JWW.

PBF weighed in at 150 for a JMW fight w ODLH, and was 148 on fight night. Oscar was 164.

At 25 yrs old: Hop was a MW, Oscar was a WW, and Floyd was a SFW.

well, Tito was undefeated (on the books) at WW. And, except for Oscar, he kinda destroyed everyone else.
