One thing I disagree with you on Bringer is that you said Floyd is vulnerable to a body attack when he is on the ropes. That was pretty damn easy to see in the first fight, but then again, I have never seen Mayweather look so bad on the ropes, and I've seen all of his fights. In the rematch, Castillo couldn't do nearly what he did on the ropes in their first fight.
Here's something you haven't heard before... I think this fight is one that proves the most underrated part of Floyd Mayweather's abilities, his chin. I would be surprised if Hatton doesn't catch him at least once pretty decently to the head, and I don't think Mayweather is going to be hurt from it, because I have never really seen Mayweather hurt (except for the Corley fight on a brilliant left hook that connect directly on Mayweather's chin). Unless Hatton catches him directly on the chin, I think Mayweather is going to be able to basically shrug anything he throws (at his head) off.
I think this is true, I thought DLH & Gatti were going to follow a similar game plan to Jesus Chavez, but of course they didn't. This is the only style Hatton will have a chance at beating Floyd with.

..................
Mayweather is a great fighter on the inside or the outside.....now he may choose to lean on the ropes ...stick and move...but he can do it from any angle inside or out...i think hatton is overrated as alot of british fighters have been..... in this fight i think hattons style will work against him... one big myth about hatton he is a volume puncher...thats a myth...his style is bully and clinch... which is fine do what u have to do...but i think in this fight doing that is gonna get him picked aprt mayweather will stand in with hatton and ****...than ull once again realize how great mayweather is on the inside...he might mix it up and counter from the outside at times...but hattons style will be his own dismay.... off topic one boxer who is british who i think dosent get enough credit and if he were american they would be suckin his **** is callzaghe...alot of experts are picking kessler ...im goin with the only british sensation....lmaoooooo....only being the keyword.... callzaghe.....ohhhh and to see hatton again after the fight with mayweather ur gonna have to go to his local pub and see him in person...after this fight he's another fighter exposed and disposed.........

When we talk about an "older" fighter, I assume that we are talking about Tszyu at 36 or Castillo at 34 and having been through wars.
Yes, Floyd is a year older than Hatton, or whatever. But I don't think you actually perceive him as "an older fighter". Or do you? PBF is prime.
My reference to 'smaller" fighters relates to alot of the guys that Hatton fought who had not competed at these higher weights. PBF has been sparring and fighting with men who are much bigger than Ricky. I believe that RH will find that he can't impose his size or strength on Floyd.

So, how does beating a shot fighter and an overrated runner get you FOTY?

Everyone seems to have an opinion about who is bigger, Floyd or Ricky. My guess is it is about even in that department. You have a 140 pounder jumping up in weight for the first time, against a generally small welterweight. Ricky will likely outweight Floyd on fight night, but not all of it will be muscle, I guarantee that, so however much Ricky outweighs Floyd is irrelevant. The relevant question is how much of that size can be useful in the ring against Floyd (muscle vs. excess water weight/fat).

Castillo at least won some fights of late, Judah did not. Mosley didnt fight anyone in years and is 36. The two possible records dont even compare.Last edited by wmute; 08-28-2007, 10:28 AM.
