The reason i say exposed .....is because i think hatton shouldnt be in the ring with mayweather....i think he's overrated....how long has hatton been on a world level.... and ill give him credit for all the fights he's fought outside of his backyard... meaning i wont discredit his opponents for being shot or toherwise.... how many fights..?....3...maybe 4....so out of all the fights he has he's fought only 3 to 4 against fighters outside of his backyard.... dosent make sense to me why anyone would think he could beat floyd when if u took every fighter hatton has fought if u combined their best traits they couldnt beat floyd.....people get riled up because hatton record makes them believe that he has fought great competition.... where as floyd has hall of famers on his resume...how many does hatton have.... listen im not a fast runner...but if i beat every 4 year old i raced...would u say i could compete in the olympics....now if mayweather took this fight its on him...i cant speak for how he manages his carrer.... but make no mistake that at the end of this fight not only will i already know...but all hatton fans will have to admit he was way outclassed..........

So Arturo Gatti did deserved to be in the ring with Mayweather? Hatton is an undefeated, young, talented Champion. Why he doesn't deserve to be in the ring with Floyd I'll never know. Sure, he lacks the overall finesse and technical talent of Floyd but every boxer has a style unique to their physical attributes. Hatton deserves Floyd, period.

If on December 8th, Hatton gives Mayweather a tougher time than most thought he would, or in a weird twist of events, beats him. I can't wait to bump this thread. I just don't see why hatton can't get any respect around here for what he's accomplished.

        I dont get your point
Didnt Hatton fight Zoo in his backyard?

Among all the fighters at 140-147, he is the more accomplished after Mosley, who is 9 years older than Ricky anyways.

Who should be in the ring with Floyd, then? Cotto, Williams, Cintron, Margarito? Definitely not since Hatton has the better resume

Bringer u cant misquote me if u quote me...i said i didnt think he should be in the ring with mayweather...i also dont think gatti should be in the ring with mayweather before their fight.... thats my opinion...others will say hatton has a great chance....than i said mayweather can do what he wants i dont manage his career.......and its not that hatton dosent have his attributes...even a bum fighter has attributes...he just dosent have the attributes to beat floyd...by far.... if mayweather lays on the ropes in this fight and sticks and moves he'll beat hatton ....just like every other guy he's fought if he stands in he's gonna **** and we'll see his great inside style again... hatton is a champion ....the only 2 fighters that he beat that are worth anything is tzou and castillo.....so if we take away all the other bums he's fought that would make him 2-0.....lol...i dont give him credit because it took him 40 fights to come box on a world level....and his crew managed him well.... how do i give credit to a guy that never left his backyard...now i dont say america is the only place to box....but the best the world has to offer...whether it be black...white.. or spanish...come fight in america......i cant respect a guy that never came here till 40 fights into his carrer...the best fight here....and he just started here........

no hatton did not fight tzou in his backyard he fought him in england which is hattons backyard.....how is he more accomplished than mosely ...list the world class fighters that hatton has beaten inside or outside the usa...meaning england or america....and i already gave him credit for tzou...and castillo...u got 2 who else..?...and its ok to lose to world class competition..that can happen to anyone...and mosely has fought and won against world class competition..but whether he has won or lost he stepped in...again name the world class talent hatton has fought.......i think it would be hard for any fighter to beat mayweather....but someone must so ill go with best chance to beat mayweather ...paul williams...........

Conversely, Brizzy, if (IF!) Mayweather leaves Hatton is a pool of his own piss and blood (was it Floyd that said that?), will you be co-signing the overratedness of Ricky...in hindsight?

                Question:

Why the **** does it matter who fought who in who's backyard when one of the fighters lost by KO (or TKO for that matter?)

Zab Judah beat Cory Spinks! In Cory's backyard! Wow!

Ummm yeah, but the big advantage of fighting in your own backyard is having the judges give you a homecooked decision, and since the fight didn't go to the cards, I'm not sure what advantage they had in the fight.

Same with Hatton-Tszyu, Hatton knocked Tszyu out... it could have happened in Poland, and it wouldn't have made a bit of difference.

Doesn't matter. I dont get why you dont see the point. Who else do you want to see Hatton and Mayweather fight, respectively. They are 1 and 2 at 140. Hatton (IMO) is a top 5 welterweight at the very least. It's a great fight with two world class fighters. You're just being a debbie downer with the situation. Do you even like boxing?

Well Martin Misinformed, Mayweather isn't #2 at 140 he is the C at 147, just like Ricky is the C at 140. Anyways, it is being fought at 147. Just because a fighter is great in one weight class, it doesn't mean that they are going to be great at all weight classes.

The next great fight of our time: Ivan Calderon vs. Wladimir Klitschko, the best of their divisions.

I am talking about rankings with the boxing fans. If FMJ moved down to 140...Boxing fans would probably be arguing over who was #1 and #2 - Hatton or Mayweather.

Anyway, like I said twenty times the last few weeks. You're point about 'size' is moot. Mayweather is the smaller fighter. Maybe not in height but in physical mass and strength.
