Mayweather: Easily one of the best trash talkers in the game.Mayweather said: "I'm gonna love being in front of all Hatton's fans and telling them that their man is going to get his arse kicked. I'm hearing that Hatton is not a confrontational type of guy. Well, I've got some shock news for him - he's in the wrong business!
"Right now Hatton is in the Mayweather business, and that is all about confrontation."

Exactly. He has had a few zingers. But largely, not.
Floyd doesn't have the gift of gab like some other guys might. He grew up in those gritty Michigan gyms. FMS tries to create rhymes. They are largely unsuccessful. FMJ has more of that in-your-face intimidation style.
Ricardo Mayorga's shtick is also fairly predictable.Comment

I doubt he'll be rattled. If the atmosphere of the Kostya fight didn't get to him then this one shouldn't.Hatton seems to be a quick-witted and relaxed guy. But as Oscar said during 24/7, you don't know how someone will react to a mega-fight.
Hatton hasn't had a fight of this magnitude against an opponent of this capability and standing...that he has doubts that he can beat.
So, it will be interesting to see if he is rattled. Will Ricky hold his mud?Comment

Why are you trying to compare two completely different things? You said that he was "crappy" at it. And you said he was effective.
You are drawing a line between "aesthetics" and "effectiveness" where there CAN'T be one.
Hatton did not fight a "pretty" fight vs. Tszyu. It was ugly and dirty. And repetitive. But it was effective. Did Hatton fight a crappy fight?

The "atmosphere" of the Zoo fight was violently pro-Ricky. And it did not involve transcontinental press-tours. It wasn't against a media star. It was on Showtime, not HBO. He didn't have to deal with American press, etc...
I do not feel that your reference of the KT fight is apropos here.Comment

i don't think floyd will get to hatton because i'm willing to bet that hatton wont understand a damn word that comes out of floyd's mouth. theres a decent language barrier between british accents/slang and american slang/ebonics etc. etc.
if ricky wants to ignore floyd i think it will probably be pretty easy. i've had british people try to talk **** to me before and its just really easy to laugh in those situations. so i imagine the reverse is much the same way.
but if it gets ugly in a press conference, i'm all about it! haComment
