You all on this site tend to hate MMA, but yet watch every event and then make a thread on it. I thought last night's card was AMAZING. Roger Huerta's performance was my favorite of the night. The way he handled a world class BJJ blackbelt was INSANE. He really evolved into an all around athelete. Boxing fans don't see this though. They want MMA fans to admire the "sweet science" but these same boxing fans don't take time to learn and understand what MMA is all about. Every position you're in is tough.

I'm sick of all these MMA hate threads. No boxing fan has ANY logic in their hate. It's the same "MMA is boring while boxing isn't."

I've seen plenty of boring boxing matches and I've seen a few boring MMA fights. It's all in your taste. I can respect if you think MMA is boring, but I don't respect any of you boxing fans here for the simple fact that you watch UFC events with pure BIAS. The second it hits the ground you make a thread saying "omg it's boring. jabbing and running owns. it's such a science."

In all honestly, I can say jabbing and moving is ridiculous and boring. That's my opinion. I understand that it's difficult to box and land punches but jabbing and moving is incredily boring. Do I make threads saying "Man, boxing is so boring." No, because it's redundant and all ppl will say is "you don't know anything about the sweet science."

          Hypocracy on this site.
Like I said.. Fightnight 2007 runs this ****!

But the crowd was goin nuts when a guy would get tackled and what not... and... idk, to me it was really boring.

And everyone loves the tackles, and they are kinda cool, but they lead to SUCH boring action and roling around on the ground and everything.

And ANYBODY who says UFC fighters are anywhere near as talented as Boxers is crazy. More athletic? maybe some of them are, but more talented? not even a chance.

They punch like amatuers a swear...

The good UFC fights are good and fun, but they are street brawls. theres no skill. I just dont see it
Same here, I watched the UFC PPV for the irst time and I was expecting a little more action.

I don't know what you have done. I have wrestled on a college level. And have sparred. So, Iam speaking from experience.

In wrestling, you often have to lift, move, or support the entire weight of your opponent. While he resists you. You rarely have to do that in boxing.

In Boxing, you can be physically weak, but just get by on technique (Cory Spinks). You can be technically poor, but just get by on strength (mayorga). You won't find elite wrestlers who are weak in either category.

In boxing, you have three or four things to remember when throwing a punch. A wrestling move may involve a sequence of six or more moves to effect a reversal, throw, or takedown.

At wrestling camp, you basically lift like a football player, and run like a cross-country guy. I maintain that wrestling is a more demanding sport than boxing.

Top level wrestling is down to 7 weight classes. Which means that you may be wrestling a guy who actually outweighs you by fifteen pounds. Boxing has a weight class every 5 or 6 pounds. And guys like Ricky Hatton (a supposed champion with heart) runs away from guys seven pounds above him.

I don't know if you have ever wrestled at any decent level. But if you have not, then you aren't really qualified to speak to it. Sorry.

Wrestling is gay. The winner is always the one who's strongest. They are just a bunch of meat heads. Get mad

not completely true...Ive done wrestling, and have been stronger and better conditioned than a good majority of the people Ive faced, and they still are able to beat me. Although I do always give a good match and never got pinned

Wrestling uses more momentum and control than anything...You could argue boxing is tougher or that wrestling is tougher, it really doesnt ****ing matter. You need to be great conditioned and skilled in both sports, but they both use COMPLETELY different skill sets and muscles. Although stamina will always help with anything. The one thats harder really depends on your body type and how you adapt to the skillset and everything...

jumping weight isnt that big a deal in wrestling, at least it seemed to me. I wrestled in ever weight class between 130 and 172? (cant remember, the 2 pound weight allowance always screwed me up, but its the class around that number) in one year and surprisingly, I did more or less the same at each one, haha!

and for whoever them guys are that are saying that 'no one knows what theyre talking about on these forums', cmon now, just because you dont initially agree with them doesnt mean that. you need to really read their stuff first and think about it, some are wrong, some may be right. a lot of this is preferences anyway...

After reading all of this, 99% of you guys are ignorant as hell and don't have a clue what you are talking about.

What did you expect from UFC, a boxing match?
You have wrong expectations than and off-course you all get disapointed.

MMA - mixed martial arts -> boxing, muay thai, wrestling, judo, BJJ etc. etc.
Not just boxing, so don't expect two guys to put a boxing clinic.

If you don't understand ground game please stop complaining, don't be ignorant.

Also, enough with Kermit Cintron already, that he could prove boxers >> UFC fighters.
All of time i read, Cintron is boxer with KO power, and has a good wrestling background and he will prove boxers are better than MMA guys...
Reality check for you guys, than he isn't a pure boxer anymore.. HE IS MIXED MARTIAL ARTIST.
Wrestling + boxing = mix of two different martial arts.

So your logic boxers >> mma fighters doesn't work because when you say that boxers need to learn wrestling, they aren't pure boxers anymore, they are mixed martial artist, just like any other UFC fighter.

                    Have a nice day.
