thats complete BS and you know it.

They wouldnt even be able to tackle him.

Boxing is a part of the UFC as well, and considering how talented Mayweather is, he'd keep it a boxing match, jab and move laterally. These guys would be diving for the legs buy Mayweather would just slide out of the way and bash 'em in the head. And he'd jab as they come in.

I can see it in my head. It would be so easy. UFC guys just arent talented boxers, or even punchers. They punch like amtuers and its a fact.

The fights can be entertaining, im not saying anything about that, but the fighters themselves are just not skilled. Maybe the next generation will be

My take on it is quite simple...

To anyone who says an MMA guy would beat a boxer in th Octagon, I say of course they would. Any boxer would beat any MMA striker if the fight stayed on it's feet. So badly it would be an embarassment. But an MMA guy would beat a boxer in the Octagon because they would take them to the ground and neutralize their offense, and go for a submission. So badly that would be an embarassment.

On the whole, MMA guys are not proficient strikers. Not when compared to boxers anyway. They also lack the power of a professional boxer.

Talented people will accel at whatever they do.

With 3 months of training in the basics of the ground game, and take down defense, Floyd Mayweather WOULD be able to roll through anyone that MMA had to offer him.

Look what Liddell was about to accomplish with a decent take down defense and amateurish striking skills.

I dont know why people assume a boxer would totally neglect to learn about the ground game before stepping into the octagon.

Funny how MMA fans don't make threads hating on boxing after an event.

I'm not going to sit here and argue about this because none of you have points whatsoever nor are even logical in your posts. All of you add bias.

You all on this site tend to hate MMA, but yet watch every event and then make a thread on it. I thought last night's card was AMAZING. Roger Huerta's performance was my favorite of the night. The way he handled a world class BJJ blackbelt was INSANE. He really evolved into an all around athelete. Boxing fans don't see this though. They want MMA fans to admire the "sweet science" but these same boxing fans don't take time to learn and understand what MMA is all about. Every position you're in is tough.

I'm sick of all these MMA hate threads. No boxing fan has ANY logic in their hate. It's the same "MMA is boring while boxing isn't."

I've seen plenty of boring boxing matches and I've seen a few boring MMA fights. It's all in your taste. I can respect if you think MMA is boring, but I don't respect any of you boxing fans here for the simple fact that you watch UFC events with pure BIAS. The second it hits the ground you make a thread saying "omg it's boring. jabbing and running owns. it's such a science."

In all honestly, I can say jabbing and moving is ridiculous and boring. That's my opinion. I understand that it's difficult to box and land punches but jabbing and moving is incredily boring. Do I make threads saying "Man, boxing is so boring." No, because it's redundant and all ppl will say is "you don't know anything about the sweet science."

            Hypocracy on this site.

Have you participated in any???!!!!!!!! Seeing is different than participating. Go to a BJJ school and get your ass whooped, you'll learn how hard it is to be on the ground.

I still cant figure out why they call it Mixed Martial Arts. I thought Martial Arts were supposed to be people of great skill and lots of technical ability. These guys in the UFC are just streetfighters that beat up a lot of guys back home. Most of them have no striking ability, just swing for the fences and hope something lands. If it doesnt land, take them down and try to choke them or rip an arm off. I think its degrading to humanity to see two guys in there basically trying to kill each other. After they knock someone out they'll try to jump on top of them and smash their face into the canvas before the ref can get in to break it up. What kind of sportsmanship is that? I tried watching the crap a couple times and it was about as interesting as a fight in highschool. At first your excited to see some action, but then it gets boring pretty quick when they take it to the ground and try to strangle each other.

I'm suprised its legal actually. Boxers die sometimes even through the padded gloves. I guess its a good thing MMA guys dont have the punching ability of some boxers because there would be a lot of deaths with those knuckle pads those guys use.
