Where the hell did this come from? I asked a simple question about 15 rounders and you bring 3 different fighters into question about whether they'd be elite in 15 round fights or not? I'm asking from the standpoint that it would seperate the chumps from the champs, and that the extra 3 rounds would've overturned some ****ty close or bull**** decisions.
Do you miss 15 round fights?

I think the risk of boxing related injuries would certainly increase a tad, but the injuries themselves would remain the same. Naturally going 3 extra rounds would play some part as far as risk goes, but ultimately I barely see the extra 3 leading to many, if any extra ring related deaths.I do, thinking about fights like Hopkins vs. Taylor I and having those 3 extra rounds... What a difference it would have made!
The way Alexis Arguello cemented his reputation in those rounds..
Fraziers left hook in the 15th..
I think they should have it on the table. Somewhere.
There are still ring deaths and lasting injuries with what we've got..
Possibly fewer of course..
But as a sport I think Boxing would be itself more at 15.
If Hopkins/Taylor would've had 3 extra rounds, Jermain would be back in Arkansas picking mud off his boots somewhere. And DiBella would be out of the business for good, which needs to happen fast. I think as far as bad promoters go he almost rivals Don King.Comment

Perhaps. The problem wth that ptheory is that.. If they know that they have 15 rounds to go, wouldn't they fight like it? They'd have a slower first 7 or 8 rounds.. and then tire around the 11th or 12th.. I knwo I'd prepare for that, if I knew I had that problem. And I'd assume every fighter knows if they have a stamina problem.Comment

Yeah but for razor close fights like Hopkins/Taylor, Taylor/Wright, Marquez/Pacquiao, etc... 3 rounds could've crowned a decisive victor.Comment

I miss 15 rounders.
It'd be nice if the athletic commissions decided to allow just one of the sanctioning bodies to go back to holding 15 round championship fights.
That belt would eventually become THE BELT to hold and we could do away with this 4-belts per weight division bull****.Comment

I use to hate 15 round fights. As soon as it gets into the teenage rounds, boxers lose their skill. And it becomes a scrap. I would rather watch 12 high class rounds, then 15 rounds of scrapping any day.Comment

so true! dont know if it would affect Duhhhbella thoI think the risk of boxing related injuries would certainly increase a tad, but the injuries themselves would remain the same. I wish we had 15 Rounds in the HW and Cruiser divisions. It would up KO endings by 10-25% and really remove the clutter that surrounds that division. At least I think it would.Comment
