Hatton is good and so is Kessler.
Please, dont ever speak of calzaghe and mayweather in the same breath, the level of competiton mayweather fights is light years ahead of calzaghe, and in terms of boxing skill, mayweather is on another level.

I agree that calzaghe hasn't made the most of his career. I mean its not really up for debate - since beating lacy he has fought two completely unnecessary fights against mediocre-at-best fighters.

I don't buy the "going to America" nonsense - the big fights can be made almost anywhere, unless you're gonna get a huge casino fund you may as well fight where you can sell the most tickets. For Joe that is Wales and Manchester.

I put very similar charges at the door of Hopkins pre-taylor and Jones jnr at LHW. Just not enough top quality fights. Why didn't either of them fight Calzaghe?

Don't talk **** about these 2 I mean c'mon they have fought wayyyyyyyy better competition. Joe is a great fighter I will admit but his legacy will only be known in the U.K
This the same Hopkins and Winky that couldn't sell tickets combined, huh?

It's Calzaghe himself saying he should be doing his fighting in the US. It has been the statement after each of his last fights. This picture is from his webpage...

JC would get criticized no matter if he fought Hopkins, Taylor or like he is now, Kessler. Simply because he’s talked to much about fighting all 3, and he had to let at lest two fan groups down.

He talks way too much. He hasn’t got enough time to keep up with his mouth. I doubt it’s "Calzaghe the fighter" who really deserves the hate.

I personally don't think it's that important where the fight is held, as long as you are fighting the right guy. Continue to do so, and you should end up at Vegas one way or another.

If I hear one more time that you have to fight in the States to prove yourself I'm going to throw up..
Neither Kessler or Joe are American and they are by far the best at eir weight..
This fight is going to be huge in the UK..Why should Clzaghe go to the US to fight in front of a crowd, one quater the size for a fight that means fook all to anyone apart from a few Americans.
Hopkins Taylor,Wnky mean nothing to Calzaghe.except to shuit up a few yanks.
If they want to fight the longest reining World Champian in boxing, get your American ass on a plane and go where the money and champion are..

Infact best not....You know what happened last time..

I can see Calzaghe falling into Legend status very soon. You can't complain about a boxer who just gets it done. Who ever you put in front of him he beats. If that doesn't deserve some respect I don't know what does.

Calzaghe's a legend in the confines of his own division [if there can be such a thing]. The most title defenses, plus he may retire unbeaten in over 45+ fights. He ain't a p4p great and never will be.
