In the absence of great comp, a fighter beats good comp consistently to offset. And Calzaghe is trailing his career with great comp. Lacy was great comp and he frigging ruined the kid. Lacy beat Vanderpool and Reid like they weren't in the ring.

I just wanted all the unnecessary Calzaghe hate to stop, I don't even know why theres hate on him. He's an entertaining boxer, I don't understand what more people want.

Grappler: Is Carlos Monzon a legend? because he sure as hell didn't see much need to fight in the US. Hatton traveled because he wanted those fights; Calzaghe wasn't as big as Hatton until recently and very well could travel next year with a big group of travelers. But what's he supposed to do...come over here and fight in front of 1500 at some Indian casino so American fans will give him dap? So he can build to a big fight against Jermain Taylor in a half empty arena?

I agree! and you make a very good point. BUT! stop the money talk. If Joe came here earlier and fought guys like Taylor B-Hop Winky I would give him respect and if he would have won against these guys I would have STFU

I don't care where he fights. If he beats Kessler, I'm impressed. Much more impressed than I would be if he beat Hopkins right now.

Hopkins showed his age in his last fight. Some people even had him losing the fight. I definitely think Kessler is above Hopkins now, hopkins has mostly been a defensive fighter during his career but early in his career offensive. But his last fight, he fought very dirty, dirtier then he has ever fought. And he and winky both looked tired, not tired from the punches but more the fact that their age is showing now. I'm not taking anything away from Hopkins, but Hopkins should retire as he is now. He barely won his last fight.

Kess is among a handful of truly elite fighters in their prime right now. Cal wins that fight and color me impressed.

Joe is gonna easily win that fight. How hard could it be to beat up on someone who only has a JAB AND A 1-2. I've never been impressed by Kessler. If fans find that beating him is a great accomplishment so be it. Not in my eyes. N/E ways I will sure watch the fight because Calzaghe is a very entertaining fighter to watch.

Kessler is one of the best multi-punch combination fighters in the game. I suppose it must have been easy to beat jab 1-2 fighters like Holmes and Louis too? Kessler's last three years have been among the most impressive in the sport. If Joe handles him easy, we have to reevaluate how good he's been all along. Kessler is as tough an opponent going in as Tito was for Hopkins and in real terms may be tougher because he's the same size as Cal.
