I will never love Joe. I don't particularly like his personality. I cannot take too much away from his career though. He seems to be stepping up now and the Kessler fight is a big, big step. Kessler is a big, strong, dominant champion. Technically Joe is his superior but Kessler is strong and tough.
Who is he meant to fight for the US to love him? Really there is only Winky (who looked mediocre by his own high standards recently), Hops who is great but slowing and easy to rightfully discredit and Taylor who may or may not beat Pavlik.
Taylor is really the only good challenge for him. If Taylor wins then moves up I think It'll happen. If Calzhage and Taylor get it on then I will be thoroughly pleased.
Of course, Pavlik and Kessler might put paid to all this speculation.

Hatton is good and so is Kessler.

Stop mythologising Calzaghe. He's believed his clippings from that brilliant win over Lacy and he's looked horrible since.

      Kessler's coming to get him.

You've got to be kidding. Calzaghe is nowhere near Mayweather in terms of accomplishments. No way Calzaghe is a legend until he beats real ESTABLISHED name fighters. Mayweather is already a legend.

If you're saying all this about Kessler's opposition, do you not see the irony that 90% of Joe's good opponents had already tasted defeat and/or lost their titles and were a year or two past their primes, and were forced to travel for what is most likely moderate money (notice how Joe never fought an attraction between Eubank and Lacy).

Joe's career has been awful for a guy with so much talent and the best thing that can happen is for Kessler to end it as soon as possible. Kessler is a fighter who's impressed since winning the WBA version in late 2004, has garnered international respect for beating Lucas (Canada), Mundine (IN Australia), Beyer (Germany) and Andrade (Mex/USA on HBO).

He got respect for his fine boxing skills from the different countries and 3 years in his reign Kessler was already on HBO. After the Robin Reid fight, Calzaghe and Warren were told that Joe wasn't ready for the big stages; and I hear it was a similar case after Starie.

Joe was in hiding the first 8 years of his title reign. And then they have the bollocks to say Roy Jones ducked them.

          Kessler's coming to get him

Who the hell has mayweather beat, he hasn't fought bums but the only big name on his resume is Oscar, and I'll give you zab judah if you want that aswell. Don't come on my topic and start ****. Mayweather needs names like Hatton on his resume to build up his legacy. Belts don't make champions, the people you fight make champions. Coming on here and starting **** saying he hasn't beat anyone.

Castillo, Judah, De La Hoya, and Corrales are all better than anyone on Calzaghe's resume by far

5 division TITLIST...he's won the World championship in 3 divisions.

That said, Mayweather has fought better guys than Cal and thus is currently a greater fighter. That doesn't make either fighter not one hell of a fighter.

Calzaghe has 21 defenses and only two mandatory fight in 21 defenses is a bogus record. Not only was he defending the low budget crappy ass title that is the WBO. But he defended it against 16 bums, 3 shot fighters, an overrated fighter and 1 prime fighter. And your impressed with that
