This is the biggest line of bull**** I have seen on this site in a long time. A boxer/football player/basketball player/wrestler or any other athlete cannot truly be considered an "all time great" until AFTER they have finished their career. This is another example of a Mayweather hater taking cheap shots. The facts are that Mosley has turned Mayweather down three times. Hatton has turned Mayweather down three times prior to now. Mayweather beat the best at 130, 135, 147 and 154. The only reason he didn't beat the best at 140 is because the best (Hatton) refused to fight him. Although he cannot be considered an all time great yet, he is DEFINIELY the "all time greatest of the last 10 years". None of those guys you mentioned, Hatton, Cotto, Mosley, and definitely not Paul Williams are in the same league as Mayweather, so he will prove nothing by beating them. Those guys are simply battling for number 2. At this point in his career, Mayweather is in it ONLY for the money.

I stopped reading at "this is another example of a Mayweather hater taking cheap shots." - if you'd read a single word I wrote you'd know of my respect for the man. This is just another example of some dumb ****ing newbie, with no reputation at all as a decent poster jumping to conclusions without having read his homework.

1.) No Oscar didn't fight the best opponets possible and that's why he's NOT An all time great, stay on subject here pal. Read the words I type carefully.
who did he not fight in this era and before you open your ****ing mouth think about duran and his record against the ATG of his era. oscar was 2-6 against ATG fighters, had more title defenses then duran and your dumb ass is talking about he is not an ATG.

2.) Becoming a six division Champion and defending your titles 17 times is a superb accomplishment for any fighter but it's equal parts opposition as well as record. Duran fought 119 times, that's what made him great. Mayweather hasn't achieved a third of that total.
119 fights 70% of which are bums, and you haven't even heard of them. duran after 1980 was above average at best defeinitely not ATG material, but your dumb ass wouldn't know that. IF total fights fought was the only criteria to determine an ATG no fighter in the modern era would be considered one.

And what you don't know is that out of Duran's 119 fights only 12 were title defenses. Oscar has defended and won more titles than duran, regardless of how you try and spin it.

3.) Again, titles in different weight classes don't alone constitute being an all time great especially when you consider the accomplishments of the guys on the list. I could pick any 5 fighters off the greatest of all time list that were better than Floyd, but you'd still have a problem with them because you're obviously biased. Again, quality not quantity.
coming from a guy who just said floyd is not an ATG because he hasn't fought 119 times. go and pick the top ten of any ATG and floyd's career is better then 75% of them. so please pick the ATG who has accomplished more than floyd. just remember to make sure the fighter you pick has won five titles in five weightclasses while remaining undefeated and capturing three ring titles in the process, and three lineal titles. floyd at the age of 30 has had more title defenses then sugar ray leonard, and needs one more to match duran

4.) Newb? I have over 3200 ****ing posts on this forum you moron and have a pretty solid reputation for being a pretty knowledgable person for someone my age (21). Stop bringing up Roberto Duran and Oscar De La Hoya in the same sentence.
nobody gives a **** how many posts you have..talk about lame. what was duran's record from 1980 until he retired..how many times did duran defend the 147, 154, and 160 titles he won. how many times did delahoya defend his title at 147 and 154.

5.) Zab Judah was coming off his career tanker is what he was coming off of, first to Tsyzu, then to Baldomir. Baldomir was coming off a 7 year winning streak against tin cans, he got lucky beating Judah because on any day of the week the man is not fit to carry Judah's gym bag. And Gatti!?! Tell me one great fighter Gatti beat and YOU might have a case.
typical hater strategy, ok sherlock name how many ATG fighters fought a fighter coming off a loss. zab is a legit 2 weight champion, are you saying because he lost at 140 he shouldn't have an opportunity to fight the best. Duran got beat by all the ATG of his era did they stop fighting him.

you are so ****** you make dumb look smart. and you talk about baldomir fighting tin cans what did duran fight at 135 to get to 72-1. once again think before you open your ****ing mouth.

6.) Don't bring up my race, I guaran-****ing-tee you wouldn't have even mentioned it if I weren't ballsy enough to put my actual picture up as my avatar. Calling me racist for speaking the truth about what it takes to be the greatest in a sport that I've watched for 15 years, pathetic.
you don't know **** about boxing. the fact that you try and say a guy who fought 70% of his fights at 130 and is now a 5 weight champion and is undefeated is not an ATG is pure racist bunk. if floyd was white I am sure we wouldn't here a peep from your ass.

Calling me racist for the second time is no way to get a solid response from me. Neither is saying if Mayweather were white I wouldn't question his standing. I skipped all your useless blabbering so I could save myself some time and watch "Friday Night Fights".

Tell you what, why don't you come and talk to me when your testicles drop, ok? I'm sure what you say then will be much more interesting than what you offer now. Now kindly stop riding my ****.

Tiger isn't an all-time great RIGHT NOW?
Jordan wasn't an all-time great before his first retirement?
Alex Rodriguez isn't an all-time great RIGHT NOW?
Roger Federer isn't an all-time great RIGHT NOW?

Someone may not feel that way about Floyd - that's fine. But it IS possible to identify the all-time greats while they are active.

I think right now Floyd is an all time great, but only from the standpoint of ability, certainly not accomplishment.
