He landed some on the cheek. But he was mostly busy eating punches. Taylor doesn't have Miranda's power, but he moves better and has more accurate and faster punches. That's all I meant. He's not going to be pushed bacdk as simply as Miranda was.

But im just watchin some tape and to me at lease, it seems he only has these lapses when he's got his man in some trouble.

Against Miranda, he had just blasted Miranda against the ropes and was opening up on him. But Miranda has so much heart that he also started opening up and landed some blistering right counters. And another time Pavlik had just got Miranda to take a step back but Miranda jumped forward with an uppercut and caught pavlik.

Pavlik really had miranda in a world of trouble from the very first round.

And against Zertuche, Pavlik seemed to have some trouble adjusting the the very wide looping, brawler type style that Zertuche has.

I've been waver a bit on how and who wins this fight, but im becoming more confident in Pavlik by late round stoppage.

Taylors speed and movement should keep him in the fight for about 6,7 rounds, but Pavlik will pull ahead and start dominating like he has done so many times before.

But maybe Pavliks defensive lapses are more then just lapses. I've just seen him use many good defensive techniques effectively AND i've seen him look pretty good defensive when he wants to be.
i have those fights too. and agree when you say pavlik has a "good defense" but think i lean towards a weaker type of "good".

i like pavlik and hope he wins against taylor. but am worried that his style of previous fights will fit right into jermaines hands. not to say pavlik finds a way to win. and with slow witted taylor i see many ways! but its worrysome when some top boxing pundints say pavlick will go down. those guys all point to the fact "who has pavlik fought". he's never faught on the same level as taylor.
if sportsbooks make pavlik a large underdog i may make a small real money wager on him.

        That isn't relevant.

The fact that Taylor throws crisp, accurate combinations changes the complexity of a fight discussion when Miranda is used as a benchmark.

He threw, and he landed yes. But he wasn't throwing quick to the target, accurate punches. He was swinging for the fences.

I think Pavlik has a very good defense, but thats only when he's thinking defense. And the ability to transition from offense to defense seemlessly is the difference between a great fighter and a good fighter.

And Sportsbooks are making this an even fight, with most having Pavlik the very slight favorite.

I'd Bet Anybody Here Taylor Wins By Ko

THIS GUY IS TAYLOR MADE. HE WILL BE DESTROYED IN SEVEN ROUNDS. This will be taylor's easiest fight thus far. pavilik has decent tools to work with, but i can't say he's an eite fighter until after this fight. he has not fought anybody yet. OK I know he beat maranda but this guy was a won dementional fighter. all he had was a right hand. He fought like a kid who just began learning how to box. No head movement, no foot work, no countering. also who in the hell was zertuci, please tell me why are poeple so impressed by this guy. he ko'd two inexperience sluggers, nothing more.on the other hand taylor has fought nothing but the worlds best ,B-HOP,WINKY,OUMA,SPINKS,JOPPY,EDOUARD,NEED I SAY ANY MORE. as you can see he has not only fought five world champions he has beat them all, including one hall of famer ,living legend, and current world champion in B-HOP. So like i said pavlik is in way over his head.KO for taylor in seven, i bet you 10 million $$$$$.

In all seriousness sure Taylor has more experience. But his performances have been so subpar I really don't see him being far and away the better fighter. Now as far a crisp punches. I guess anyone can look like an accurate puncher compared to Miranda. But let's not forget how wildy Jermain threw punches in the Ouma fight. Which essentially made him gas out. And against Wright he landed some straight through the middle but a lot were looping hooks to that caught Wink on the ears. And as far as Hopkins I don't recall any significantly accurate punches that Jermain landed. He has better than average handspeed. But let's not get in over our heads.
