No, I dont think we Americans ignore your fighters (I assume you are talking about European fighters). We know your fighters, however we havent been exposed to them much. Those who we have heard of that come over this way have either peaked our interests or been more hype. Unfortunately, the fear of corrupt scoring has led to many of our fighters to not risk traveling overseas to face some of the competition, so there really is no way of rating them. I think Calzaghe is the perfect example of what you are saying. We knew of him here in the States, but there was not much exposure. Once Lacy went over there and Calzaghe gave him that beatdown, it opened our eyes and made us appreciate him. There's the reason we, for the most part, consider him the best Super Middleweight of the world.
See, if I see a European fighter I've never heard of, I'll download some fights, do some research, read up on him.
