How is Lennox Lewis canadian, when he was born in West Ham. Didn't move to Canada until he was 11 or 12, couldn't stay in England and live by himself could he, represented them in the Olympics because he was residing there, and then came back to the country of his birth to represent us. Has always held a british passport. Come back when you have something sensible to say

But I know what you mean. If I'd been American I would have surely got the title shot that I deserve.

squeelpiggy - Thanks for that mate, never really looked at it like that. Maybe I was just generalising about Americans. But still think once they have heard of them, not all but certainly a lot of Americans just seem reluctant to think they are any good simply because they are not american.

Did you hear him speak? We don't accept people as one of our own when they talk like that. That's why i headbutted Greg Rusedski's wife in Soho last week. He wasn't about apparently, so it seemed the next best thing to do.

Lennox Lewis appears to think he is Jamaican now.

Yeah, just like we shunned Frank Bruno and Nigel Benn.

Stop be daft, i'm always at the front row whenever Frank Bruno is doing Panto. Screaming abuse about his mental problems until i'm dragged out by security. Again.

Having said that, I would like to see white fighters and black fighters segregated in boxing. It's not the same sport when white fighters clearly do it for the love of the sport, whilst black fighters are just desperate for the money to pay the child support for their 19 children, or so they can jump in a taxi immediately after the fight and start sucking on their glass God.

Another factor is that we often see British fighters fight the best European opposition and vice versa early in their careers, so they can build up a decent record, but Americans have not only not heard of the prospect, they haven't heard of any of their opponents either, so assume that none of them were any good. I've heard British people saying that Mayweather isn't any good because they haven't heard of him. It's perfectly natural to make that assumption. The trouble is that a vocal minority are not open to changing their opinions and will therefore attempt to justify their non-rating of a fighter instead of just being open to changing their mind.

A good example is Calzaghe. Instead of saying "Well you know something, he can actually box" a few people said "Well Lacy was **** anyway!". Most AMericans really hadn't seen or heard Calzaghe before the Lacy fight and most decided that they were wrong about him, and that he had ability after the fight. Only a few continued to say he ******.

squeelpiggy well put, but what is that idiot chipper on about, it's people like her that give us the preconceived ideas about what americans are like and think.
