Floyd: "Cotto, to me ain't nothing but a punching bag."

FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR -> Main Chat: Let me teach you about the game young man, Mosley and Cotto are good fighters, but what has Cotto done other than beat fighters I already beat? What's impressive about that? And Shane Mosley is a very good fighter, but Shane suddenly wants to fight me but the whole world knows that he had a number of opportunities to fight me. I don't have to discredit nobody my record speaks for itself. I wouldn't be in this position without beating the top guys. Last I looked Mosley had four losses. And all I do is soften them up for Cotto. If Mosley beats Cotto, Cotto fights Hatton next. Just because you get rocked in a fight and get up, all that shows is that you like taking punishment. Cotto, to me ain't nothing but a punching bag. Cotto don't even believe he should fight me himself. He ain't never mentione my name once, that's just his promoter doing all the talking for him.

Let's see what happens if Cotto beats Mosley...

I don't even think my boy Floyd would even fight cotto. I seriously think Floyd would duck him. through Floyd's last fights, he has only fought people his age or older and cotto is too young and hungry. I think that cotto would probably beat Shane because Shane does not move and i see cotto tearing his body up and wearing him down, and maybe taking a split decision. but i wont be shocked at all if Shane beat cotto. I first picked Shane to win but i changed my mine. Cotto has the wrong style for him. and whoever is making the fights for Shane is dumb. I don't know what they were thinking when they matched him up against winky wright, Forrest, and now cotto?

Ive said that same thing all along. I hate it when fans on here and the media always says that Floyd ducked Cotto and this or that. Cotto never ever talks about Floyd. I never even heard him mentioned Floyd's name one time until the other day. I hate it when Floyd gets ripped for not fighting guys who had no intentions of fighting him. Arum only would bring up Cotto's name with Floyd whenever he was mad at Floyd and wanted to diss him by saying that Cotto would kill him. He has never talked about Cotto-Mayweather in a serious way because he knew Cotto wasnt ready.

Obviously that may have changed now and e****ally if he gets by Mosley but either way, they never talk much about a Floyd fight, e****ally Cotto

Hatton is going to shatter mayweather's rib cage before cotto has the chance to get at him.

I totally disagree. 1st off Floyd has been fighting guys his age and older recently because he only wants the big money fights and most young guys havent established themselves enough to make big money. If Cotto had Tito's drawing power then Floyd would be all over that fight.

As for Shane, I agree with you about his past losses but completely disagree about this fight. Cotto isnt like any of those guys at all. Shane lost to very tall guys who were master boxers and highly skilled fighters. Cotto is even shorter then Shane and he's a good boxer but he's not like those other 2 guys. I think its a perfect matchup for Shane. A right handed fighter, who will stand in front of him, who gets hit easily, has been rocked more then a few times, and is shorter then him.

I think if Cotto wins and puts up nice PPV numbers then that fight will definatly happened. I dont think Floyd is really ready to retire but if that situation plays out then I could see him fighting Cotto and then retiring. Thats all predicated on if Cotto puts up some very good buys and Oscar doesnt cut in. The fight would be way too big for Floyd to turn down. It would be by far the biggest fight in boxing

I'm a Floyd Mayweather fan but i seriously think he shouldn't mess with cotto. cotto is getting better and better because he is still learning. at one point in the Zab Judah fight, cotto was out boxing Judah. he can bring alot of pressure on Floyd and will give Floyd a very hard time. if they fought, Floyd better be 100% because he will be in fight of his life.
