i agree. i had it 115-113 de la hoya...

i dont think mayweather did enough to win the fight...especially considering oscar was the champ and CLEARLY SHOWN he wanted to retain his title...kept coming forward...out worked floyd most of the night...in my book a draw is the closest i can come to saying floyd won...even then i'd be skeptical...

Oscar is known for gassing out though. That's like saying... well, if Lennox Lewis had an iron chin, he would have been an undefeated fighter. I mean, it's true, but who cares? It's just not reality, Oscar doesn't have excellent stamina, so it's not like if it had happened the night before or after the result would have been different.

losing stamina does not automatically mean you lose the fight.

de la hoya is past his prime...almost everyone can agree...

however he won that fight in vegas...mayweather didnt prove enough to win...

how can you be scared of the champion but still win the title?

So you guys think that there is nothing that Hatton can take form the DLH fight that would help him...Before I see that fight I couldnt see Hatton beating Mayweather at all, But after seeing that fight it changed my mind straight away, I could see that Hatton does have a chance I can't put my finger on it but it changed my Opinion!

as in your first post (you said is the answer to beating mayweather in the DLH fight) i say yes.

this is what i got from the mayweather/de la hoya fight that worked for oscar (and if hatton applies it correctly he can win) the jab. floyd didnt respond too well to the jab...it almost seemed (to me) that oscar was using a right cross instead because mayweather looked pretty bothered when the jab would land. so hatton needs to use the jab A LOT.

i also noticed mayweather looked very uncomfortable when pressured; against the ropes; and when oscar got inside...hatton does these things naturally in a fight (when he wants to brawl) so i think hatton wont have to change anything there...

those are 2 things that really stood out to me...
1. the jab (but this is key for any fighter...however it seemed to add a little extra advantage for oscar based on how floyd reacted to all the jabs)
2. keep coming forward...pressure him...get him on the ropes (dont let him out) and get inside. when oscar did these things floyd never seemed too sure of himself and his abilities (especially the ability to take a good punch) he seemed afraid...hatton needs to capitalize on this...

and for hatton (on a side note) i think this will be the second most important part to winning the fight (beyond the jab) is body shots...

thats what you do to slow down an opponent who is too fast...you pump those left hooks to the body and MAKE HIM slow down.

beyond that...just do what i wrote after using the jab and boom...a hatton win (or quite possibly a hatton win)

Yeah it is actually.

It tells you the best way to get to Mayweather is to set everything up with a jab, and to feint. Oscar had a great gameplan.

i wrote in another thread (about 3-4 days ago) that hatton is going to feint a lead right and smack a good left hook to the body...

The thing is, I can't understand why there was not an upraw about the way the judges scored the fight..I thought as DLH had the belt then Mayweather should have brought the fight to him? IMO if the judges dont do there job right In the Hatton Vs Mayweather then there will be trouble as the English fans will go mad if they are robbed in this fight...There will be over 10,000 true fans going...Thats not fight talk but thats what will I think will happen

That fight, the Zab fight and the Castillo fight.

Floyd cant throw powerful combinations in the weightclasses he's been fighting at, he can pot shot you for 12 rounds though. His stamina and his speed are what makes him.


If your a heavy body (like Castillo and Oscar and Miggy)..You can push Floyd back, but you have to possess either quick shots in general, or quick short shots. Cause Floyds shoulder defense works for him. He's a stalky fighter, his upper body is well proportioned, wich makes his stature ideal for that shoulder defense. He can litterally defend his head with his ****in shoulder, those are the benefits for bein a stalky square fighter and based on how his body is built. That square ass body with little legs and short arms, and his speed have suited him well.


But any fighter that can punish body's would suit well against Floyd (Cotto.)
when Floyd does his shoulder D......He leaves his body RIGHT THERE, he leans back with his left shoulder at his chin, leaving his body disgustingly open. Perfect for a fighter like, oh I don't know...MIGUEL ****ING COTTO lol.
