Does Ricky really think he can beat Mayweather?

I think ricky thinks this is his best chance to beat floyd, i think he thinks he can win, i also think he thinks he can lose, ive seen so many interviews with him about mayweather, in the one after the urango fight he hinted at never ever fighting floyd and the bbc dude gave him stick for it, hatton was saying his legacy was cemented without floyd and he didnt need to fight him, etc. So we will see, he has alot of respect for mayweather too, which isnt always healthy when you are going to fight him, whereas mayweather honestly thinks hatton isnt on his level and will get schooled in an easy payday. If Hatton was only looking for a payday he would fight De La Hoya. If he expected to lose against Mayweather then why wouldn't he clean up at 140? He could win four fights and make the money he would make for fighting Mayweather, without having as tough a time.
Hatton was afraid of Mayweather according to some of the chumps on here, now he's taken the fight he's convinced he can't win and just looking for a payday? Straws. At. Clutching.
Its a mixture of things, hatton's bluff was called tho for sure by floyd, hatton never expected floyd to come out and make the fight happen.Comment

Ricky Hatton has no technique to give angles? Angles is what Hatton does. He's not the hardest puncher, he doesn't have the fastest hands, but he does have very fast feet and he's very good at throwing from angles.cause he's got no technique to give floyd angles and hit him at allComment

his confidence is another one of his best assets, the prospect of defeat probably doesn't even enter his mind. Unlike for instance somebody like De La Hoya who already has scripted and memorized his post fight speeches for HBO following a loss weeks before the fight even starts.Comment

Well, actually, you can.
You can make someone "Never the same".
For example: Fernando Vargas was "never the same" after the beating that he took from Trinidad. Feroz was all downhill after that. Tito did that to alot of cats.Comment

Then please explain why - on at least two occasions - Hatton said that he was not ready for Mayweather?his confidence is another one of his best assets, the prospect of defeat probably doesn't even enter his mind. Unlike for instance somebody like De La Hoya who already has scripted and memorized his post fight speeches for HBO following a loss weeks before the fight even starts.
You know, with his unshakeable confidence, and all.Comment

Hatton didn't say that. His dad did, Hatton said that it wouldn't make sense to fight his first fight in the US as a champion against the P4P number one in the world, and frankly he has a point. I believe that Leonard Ellerbe made a comment about not fighting in England on Floyd's behalf.Comment
