    Nice one wmute.

I was trying to draw parrallels. I thought Chavez was the closest Floyd has had to Ricky Hatton. A come forward fighter who just battles. I'd like to say Corrales was it, but it's a different ball game. I reckon Corrales would've killed Hatton.

However, most Floyd fans think that it'll be an absolute walk in the park with untouchable Floyd never in a moments danger, such is the absolute gulf in ability and class between the two fighters. Floyd is not imperious and he is not impervious. Hatton will be a tough fight and if they are expecting anything less, their predictions and their expectations are woeful.
Excellent post. I agree completely with everything you have said here. The sad thing is that some Floyd fans have their craniums so far up his colon that they don't think Floyd is capable of losing rounds let alone fights. Some maniac came on here after the De La Hoya fight and left a long winded post explaining how Mayweather had won all 12 rounds of the fight. Not even Mayweather himself would be foolish or arrogant enough to come out with such nonsense.

The mismatch will look worse than Baldomir. The chasm between these two fighters is vast.

If Hatton was a bigger man than he is, I would agree with you. The main problem for Ricky is that he is coming into this with a certainty of perception that he will be stronger and bigger than Floyd. He missed that opportunity with his cowardice. He should have taken the fight back when PBF had just moved up to 140. The Clan Hatton ran away from this fight for too long.

Ricky's first glimpse of his miscalculation will be at the presscons ("hmmm, this wanker isn't that small") . It will be validated at the weigh-in ("my gosh, he's well fit"), and it will he painfully hammered into his pink flesh in the first three rounds on December 8th.

Do you honestly think Hatton and his team aren't aware of what size Floyd Mayweather is?

Then the ref also should trip mayweather up and stopped him from running, Result=Mayweather would be smashed to bits....

To Be fair though the other guys strengths are Hatton weakenesses.

De La Hoya can block a straight right hand,

              Baldomir has a better chin.

Judah is faster and has better footwork

And all three have been in with better guys than Hatton.
Hatton's footwork isn't a weakness. Judah is faster with better footwork but Hatton is fast and has good footwork. Baldomir has the best chin in boxing pound for pound. But Hatton also has an incredible chin.

De La Hoya can block straight right hands, as can Hatton. Hatton gets hit too much but it doesn't slow him down, he's only really vulnerable to southpaw right hooks. Straight rights don't seem to affect him too much. Plus he took a number of well placed straight rights from Kostya Tszyu who has the hardest straight right anywhere near the 10st division. I'm sure he'll be fine.

And all three have been in with a better fighter than Hatton because they have all been in with Mayweather. But just because Mayweather is better doesn't mean that Hatton won't win.

Why are people acting like Baldomir was a nobody? Isnt he the reason Ricky went back down in weight, so he wouldnt have to face him?
I've never heard that one before.

Well Hatton had just won a belt, why didnt he want to unify with Baldomir if Baldomir was so bad? I see it as he pretty much got ran out of the division. Im not saying it wasnt a smart move, but people are acting like Baldomir was a nobody, but if thats true why didnt Ricky push for that fight and become the lineal welterweight champ.

As I recall it Hatton's team were pushing for that fight after Gatti got beat (they really wanted Hatton vs Gatti) but Mayweather beat them to it.

I'm pretty sure Hatton would have had a mandatory against Urkal first.
