But as i said, for now Vasquez is my fighter of the year, and depending on the other 3 performances this could change =P
Vazquez lost a fight earlier in the year. He's fighter of the year for pulling back to .500?

Mayweather. No one else could have beaten Oscar that night, but Floyd did it pretty clearly. Oscar's the best fighter to lose this year.

But I agree if Pavlik knocks ot Taylor he could get the awards just by virtue of where he started the year compared to where he will have ended it

Michael Katsidis deserves a mention. Got the world title in an exciting fight against Graham Earl, and defended it in an exciting fight with Amonzat. Definately not more skilled then the fighters on the list, but he has become a world champion and both his fights this year were very good to watch. He comes to fight with that fight to the death attitude. Should meet some peoples criteria for fighter of the year.

If and when Floyd beats Hatton, you HAVE to give it to Floyd hands down. Even if Cotto beats Mosley.

              De La Hoya/Hatton > Judah/Mosley

I love how Cotto is atop the poll when all he's done is beat an overmatched jr. welter in his backyard and then beat a guy who hasn't won a fight in 2 years. That sounds like fighter of the year material...

When Floyd beats Hatton, he'll be fighter of the year hands down. No debate needed. His win over Oscar is better than anything anyone has done this year...

The year isnt complete and there's still alot of fights to be fought the 3 leading canidates for the covinent fighter or the year, questionably have there hardest fights to date ahead of them this year! However for the moment i voted for Jermaine Taylor simply because his activity, his opponents beginning with the 1st B_hop fight have all been quality former or current world champs! And i respect quality over, performance, and victories over names, his been winning and is on track to continue the tradition!
