Did DLH take a dive in the Hopkins fight?

The body shot that put him down didn't seem all that hard to me and it was more in the back than anything else. Also the crying exibition De La Hoya put on seemed forced. A few days later they became business partners. So the theory is this: DLH knew he couldn't beat Hopkins (certanly not at 160) they were going to be in business together anyway so they made a deal to give DLH an out without getting his ass kicked too much.

If this is so DLH is a pansy who screwed a lot of people out of $50. So, what do you guys think?

I don't think there's any doubt he took a dive. The body shot had little to no snap on it whatsoever, Hopkins was never a big power puncher, nor famous for a lethal body shot. Add to that the fact that Oscar went down very weird, and pounded the mat with frustration to "sell" it. Oscar was fighting back and doing it well just 30 seconds prior to the knockout and showed no signs at all of being hurt. Not to mention he made Hopkins his business partner just a few weeks later.

I dont think he did. If you can land the hook to the body on the right angle on the right part of the rib cage it wont need alot of power to paralize you and suck out all your breath.

It happened to me in sparring once. I went to a knee (not willingly) as my breath was leaving my body. I wasnt hurt at all but I just had no breath and I had to take a minute to recover.

This is how it goes. Believe it or not DLH has always tried to compare himself to Tito.
        Tito beats Vargas and Ricardo
        Then
        DLH Beats Vargas and Ricardo
Tito gets beaten by Hopkins. Thats reason why DLH wanted to fight Hopkins he's been trying to to prove something. He couldn't deal with Hopkins so he decided to take the fall. He did his best but that K.O was FAKE the act doesn't even go hollywood. i mean think about it. Hopkins is bigger then Winky. DLH is now saying Winky is too big for him. DLH is looking for a little undeafted guy to pick on so he can retire with a BIG ****.

I just think he got caught with a great shot to the liver. I dont see Oscar as someone who would intentionally allow himself to get counted out.

Unless you are blind you would realize DLH was hurt by body shots in the previous rounds.

For future reference, whenever you see a fighter with his arms up in the corner, its because he was hurt to the body.

Agreed versy, its so frustrating how people have no concept of how a body shot feels.

You ****ing beat me to it.

Reiterating...its only guys that never boxed that think he took a dive.

To elaborate further, theres something known as the floating rib...very sensitive area and not entirely easy to hit right.

When you do git hit there you wish that you hadnt. I'de rather be dropped to the head any day than getting dropped there.

I got dropped once right on the lower sternum...aka teh button.

Worse feeling on earth. Your down for about 3 minutes.
