If Pavlik beats Taylor the way he beat Miranda, I think he should be the fighter of the year.

I saw Vasquez - Marquez 2 for the first time today (I live in England, we're light years behind the States). Awesome scrap. He should get FighterOTY, but, if PBF cleans up against Ricky, it's his.

Any ideas on FOTY this year so far? Edison Miranda - Kelly Pavlik? Tony Oakey - Steve Spartacus? Matthew Macklin - Graham Earl? PBF - DLH?

          Shoot.

This poll is about two years old,, I reposted it when i went to Threads started by Tha Greatest on my boxingscene profile ,2 years ago it Vasquez was 0 votes for Top Mexican Underated Fighter while JM Marquez had I think 4 votes, Arce had 8 as tops underated, Since then Arce still at 8 And Now the leader is Vasquez who nobody knew 2 years ago so nobody knew him, i did and now hes the current top underated Mexican fighter with 11 votes, he should win fighter of the year Based on his win over a very very good win against, Oscar Larios before his recent slump, Jhonny Gonzales, his very good performance against a #3 p4p fighter in Rafa Marquez on the first fight(ending with Vasquez losing but vindicating himself in beating Marquez by TKo and snapping Marquez 7 year non losing streak, Jhonny is now recognized by boxing fans as a underatedfighter, top underated in my poll

Talk about anything boxing related here. Where the boxing discussion is always Non Stop!

The War Of Vasquez Marquez is fight of the year, look at round 3 and beyond, you will see why,

My second choice would beZabs beating with Cotto based that it was really entertaing,, one sided but zab showed heart and fought hids little heart out without running, it was beautiful courage by a overmatched Zab

Watch a lot of these Cotto haters start jumping on the Cotto bandwagon if he beats Mosley. Its definently a tough teset but look how mnay people turned down Mosley this year. Cotto is a true professional to the sprt just goes out there and do his job and takes on whoever is out there regardess of how it is
Not to mention he drilled Quintana in December. If he beats Mosley in November he would have 4 wins in 11 months. One over a former undisputed champion, and one over a future Hall of Famer. I guess you could say Mayweather deserves it if he beats Hatton though.

Hatton if he beats Mayweather would definitely have to be fighter of the year. Especially if he stops Mayweather however unlikely this may be. Cotto could get it. If Pavlik beats Taylor then I would give a shout to Pavlik. Peter Manfredo Junior might get it if every single other boxer on the planet somehow disappears.

Vazquez - Fighter don't win FOTY with a loss that year, sorry, especially since it's the only guy he's beaten this year. 1-1 against one person is not fighter of the year material.

Cotto - Good year, but Judah isn't a HUGE win, which put him behind either:

Hatton - If he beats Mayweather, he is a lock.
                    OR
Mayweather - De La Hoya and then Hatton, puts him up higher than Cotto IMO.

I think we are almost sure to have a repeat FOTY.
