Generally.... those guys that carry the belts and talk and try to look tough are idiots. Guys that are friends with the fighter somehow, etc and just want to have their 2 minutes of fame and try to make the most of it. They watch tapes of other idiots and assume thats how its done.
Promoters PAY the fighter. And yes I am training Jose for the fight weith Santos, thats why we were ther ein NYC. Also, another thing about Artest, he had no idea the pres sconference was going on..but when he heard Peter and those guys were they he looked real disappointed he didnt get to tsee them. Then when Maskaev was walking by us in front of MSG he picked right out of the crowd and said "Oh,man, that's a real strong guy right there!!" I know guys on this board who couldnt pick Maskaev out of a crowd full of random people, but he did. Like I said, he came across to me as a real cool guy who seemed to follow boxing. In other words, he came across MUCH cooler than some of you on here that are trying to somehow discredit what I amsaying about himComment

That's gonna be a tough fight for both but exciting. Santos isn't slick like Simms but he probably punches harder though. If Rivera puts pressure on him like he did to Collazo & Terra Garcia he can win an exciting fight. Reminds me of the Santos vs Margarito fight except Rivera seems more disciplined & skilled than Margarito.Generally.... those guys that carry the belts and talk and try to look tough are idiots. I've read many interviews with Ron Artests and have always wanted to meet him based on the **** he says....He seems like a cool cat with just a bad temper and lack of self control......we've all been that way in our lives at times.Nice Story Ice.......Comment

Yeah, that's a good analogy....I expect a tough one but we can win it. Daniel is a taller southpaw who can box as well as punch but Jose so far takes a great shot and Santos isnt a SLICK southpaw like Collazoand Simms were. It's a good fight, either wayComment

We also talked about the conditioning it takes to train as a boxer and I assured him that if he ever got himself a pro trainer to train him like a fighter would he would be in AWSOME condition compared to most of the other players and he agreed, saying that a friend of his in the NBA (I forget who the guy was that he named) trains for boxing with a real trainer and it has mader a difference.Comment

It time for you kid to shine in the ring. Santos is a good name to start his title conquest.Comment

Artest gets a lot of negative attention because he lost his temper but you or I would've done the same had we been feeling what he was feeling at that moment. I agree with John on that for sure, I've lost my temper over things much smaller by comparison.
And on a side note, who the **** in their right mind compares Ron Artest to Ted Bundy? Are you high?Comment
