    If Cotto beats Mosley and DLH, the public pressure for Floyd to fight him will be unbelievable. He will have to fight him or forever be remembered as a super talent who didn't fight the best of his era, like the way many view Jones Jr.

      If Cotto wins those two fights and PBF beats Hatton and maybe somebody in the interim, a PBF-Cotto fight would be a mega event, a fight that could crack 1 or maybe even 1.5 million buys without DLH involved--imagine that!

        Huh?

        Roy Jones DECISIVELY BEAT Bernard Hopkins and James Toney. And he fought Antonio Tarver.

        Who were the "best" at MW/SMW/LHW that Jones didn't fight? Please help me understand.

          Cotto's gettin 4 Mills plus % of ppv sales...

          If he beats Mosley and Hatton looses, Oscar-Cotto May 5th 08!
          Yup, if they clash on May 3rd (the Saturday before Cinco de Mayo) in Vegas that would be perfect. It would be a great wedding present, too, as I'm getting married the weekend before that in Vegas. Guess I'll stick around for a week.

              Amen to that. Don't try to reason with DLT aka Floyd's younger sister.

                  As far as I can remember FMJ just started to sell PPV about five or six fights ago, maybe even less fights than that, before that he couldnt even sell out in his hometown at all, he is good as far as boxing skills, but boring and lame as sportman

                    It seems that Cotto's ceiling for this fight is about $5 million. Shouldn't he be making MORE for this fight? I assume that Shane will also get around $5 mil.

                    350K PPV's = 17 million (conservatively)
                    MSG Gate = 2 million
                    Sponsors = 1 million

                    For a fight that will gross 20 million plus in revenues, you would EXPECT that the purses should be more than 10 mil. The undercard purses will be low. For a fight of this magnitude, there's no need to juice the undercard. Am I missing something here?? Top Rank is gonna make a bundle off this fight. UNLESS, they don't believe that this fight can do 350-400K.

                    See, guys. This is why PBF left Arum and became a promotional free agent. And this is why he ignored that "offer" for $ 8 million from Margarito.

                      The first PPV was Gatti in June , 2005.

                      Excluding Delahoya's "The World Awaits", PBF has sold 1.1 million PPV's in the THREE cards where he headlined.

                      By contrast, Miguel Cotto has sold under 300K in his TWO par-per-view cards.
