Leonard was on the money in his analysis before the DLH-BH fight.
He was also saying that DLH does not belong in his league, specially the ability to move up to middleweight.

Leonard was a very unique fighter, he took some good shots off Hagler. Their were several times in their fight where Leonard looked like he was finished and then he would come back with flurries. Very crafty. Leonard had a long layoff too before his fight against Hagler.
Oscar gets my ultimate respect for taking the fight, i still think if it would have gone to the cards that Oscar would have won. I think that thought pissed him off too, he knew that if he survived he stood a good chance of winning. His combination punching would catch the judges eye and the fact he was coming forward alot.

Basically that he took the Hagler fight cause he saw that Marvin was being outboxed by John Mugabi and he then thought he could do it too.
He said he thought that he was stronger than De La Hoya, and that Hopkins was not as limited as Marvin was. He said Marvin had problems with boxers and that he was able to win their fight by boxing.
I had it for Marvin by a point, but I'm the most biased Hagler fan going...

Leonard started his career as a welterweight, two divisions lower than middle; Oscar's pro debut was at Jr. Light after his Olympic stint at feather.
