IBF/WBA light welterweight Ricky Hatton has announced his shortlist of potential foes. The Hitman named Arturo Gatti, Acelino Freitas, Diego Corrales or Jose Luis Castillo as his next opponent and confirmed that the fight will likely take place in Las Vegas or New York City in May. "I don't know who it will be yet, it is genuinely still being negotiated but I expect to know by the weekend," Hatton told BBC Radio Five Live. He also stated that a fight with WBC 140lb titlist Floyd Mayweather is in the works for later in the year. "For those that believe Mayweather is not going to happen, I just look forward to proving them wrong as I did my doubters in 2005," he said.

Yeah, you proved me wrong buddy two years later.
Nope, 1 year later... and he DID prove you wrong...

I dont get u DiegoFuego. You say Hatton would be your favorite fighter had he signed to fight Mayweather earlier.

Well Mayweather is equally to blame for the fight not happening.

Hatton demanded 13 million for the fight. Well guess what, Hatton and Myaweather will probably end up earning in that vacinity, meaning the fight could have happened all along and it was your boy MAYWEATHER who really turned down the fight

(as much as i absolutely hate this sing thingy--->)

Here's a good one about wanting to fight Baldomir now despite earlier claiming he wanted to stay at 140 and unify some belts and that Floyd moving up was a bad idea.

"I want Baldomir," declared Hatton in a post-conference interview. "I want to be recognized as the number one welterweight. I beat (Kostya) Tszyu to be the number one light-welterweight and to be the undisputed double weight champion would be a great position for me."

A fight with Carlos Baldomir would make sense for Hatton. Earlier this year, Baldomir shocked welterweight champion Zab Judah with a 12-round unanimous decision victory. The win nearly set up a fight between Baldomir and Arturo Gatti, but that clash had to be scrapped when Gatti suffered a hand injury in his January 28th battle with Thomas Damgaard. Now a fight with Baldomir, the current WBC Welterweight Title holder, would give Hatton the chance to move up in weight and capture another belt. A victory over Baldomir could also propel Hatton into a blockbuster match with Floyd Mayweather Jr. sometime later this year

Why does he need to fight Baldomir when Mayweather is already calling him out?

Mayweather turned down the fight now despite making three offers that Hatton said no to? Wow, now you've got me questioning every facet of life. You can't dispute facts, bro, even when they make your boy look bad.

Imagine if I came on here and said CORRALES WASN'T DRUNK WHEN HE CRASHED. What would that make me?

"We are not averse to giving up belts rather than being pushed into mandatory fights few people want to see," said the boxer's father, Ray Hatton.

"It is lovely and a great honour to have the belts but these days in the modern era of boxing it is big fights that the fans and the television companies want to see."

Then why fight Maussa? Why go after Urango? Oh my God, the lies and hyprocrisy go deeper than I ever imagined

Hatton didnt turn down the fight all the 3 times.

The fight fell apart twice. And once I believe Hattons trainer said it was to soon.

The fight could have happened if the money was right, which we are now finding out WAS right, and we are now finding out that its probably more Mayweathers fault then hattons that the fights fell apart
