a) You are being disingenuous if you describe Oscar as just "a guy who's been stopped". Oscar has shown a tremendous chin. Oscar was stopped once - on a body shot by a very big Middleweight.
Delahoya has 70+ rounds vs Shane, Quartey, Vargas, Hopkins, Mayorga, and Trinidad . Oscar's chin/durability should not be in doubt.
b) In the instances where Floyd had to trade with Oscar, he did. See here:
That is about a third of the fight. PBF wasn't running. He was boxing. And look how many times Oscar took steps back because PBF was punching. OSCAR promised to make it "a rough, tough, dirty fight" and failed to do that. Don't fault the little guy for not turning it into a brawl.
c) C'mon, man. Those guys weren't "tailor made". That represented nearly the entire power structure from 130 to 140 over the past ten years. The only two guys that PBF didn't fight are Freitas and Casamayor. And I fault PBF for not making the Casa fight happen.
PBF offered SHane a fight at 135. And again last summer.
Hatton turned down multiple offers.
Arum said that he didn't want to put Cotto in with Floyd.
Tszyu had injuries and was inactive. Declined an offer.
Judah was a very dangerous fight.
A TON of boxers and trainers picked DLH to win.
Corrales was a pick 'em fight.
PBF took a Castillo rematch that he didn't have to.
....am I lying about anything here?
d) It sounds like you are blaming FMJ for beating guys who aren't on his level. But when someone isn't on your level, what do you do? You beat them. He never half-assed it or showed up in iffy condition.
