Why do People hate on Taylor

He is the most UNdominant Middleweight champ... EVER.

The thing that annoys me about him is that he's skilled, but seems to be a complete idiot. Everybody he fights (whether they win or lose) always set the pace of the fight. Taylor coasts on his athleticism, and never tries to use ring smarts.

Winky beat him. B-Hop beat him. Spinks danced all around him and won the fight, IMO. Hell, he got pressured back by Kassim Ouma- a 154 graduate.

It's a little harsh, but after winning the title from Hopkins it looked like HBO wanted him to be the star, and he hasn't looked as dominant as people hoped. Expectations were so high that even moderate success has made him look like a failure.

Like Kaynan said, he lets other guys dictate the fight. Also, he seems unmotivated, and has not even knocked a guy down in his last five fights.

I love Taylor fans, because they get bitched the hardest when the facts come out.

In his first fight with Hopkins, Taylor averaged just 33 punches thrown in rounds eleven and twelve of the first fight and was in serious trouble throughout the final three minutes, this was after being hurt in I forget which middle round it was, when he got stuck with a counter cross and held onto the old man like a little baby, at that point in time, he looked about as helpless as an infant...

Fast forward to Wright, which was the most unconvincing victory I've seen since DLH beat Sturm, Wright had a 226-163 edge in total connects, landing 35% to Taylor 23%. Taylor averaged 59 punches thrown per round vs. Winky, who landed 40% of his power shots. As expected, Winky had a 103-41 edge in jab connects. Taylor did average 26 jabs thrown per round vs. Winky and only 15 per round vs. Ouma. Power shots saw Taylor landing 122 of 395 (31%), to 123 of 308 for Winky. Those 226 connects by Wright were the most landed vs. Taylor in any of his fights...Jermain Taylor is also not all there upstairs, he isn't super confident, he doesn't have a brash outspoken personality, he's just a calm take no chances kinda guy and he's the same person inside the ring ...On top of that, all his best wins are highly, highly controversial victories...He has never had a real 'victory'...



So, in short, you see a non dominant champion, who was at first AFRAID TO FIGHT KELLY PAVLIK...THAT'S RIGHT, HE TOLD MERCHANT "I'LL FIGHT ANYONE FOR THE MOST MONEY" ...YOU COULD SEE THE FEAR IN HIS FACE WHEN PAVLIKS NAME CAME UP, THEN HE IMMEDIATELY BEGAN KISSING PAVLIKS ASS......THEN TALKING ABOUT HOW HE DIDNT WANT ANY PART OF PAVLIK......THAT IS NOT HOW A CHAMPION IS SUPPOSED TO ACT....stop trying to make Taylor look like a modern Hagler, Hagler could beat three Taylors in one night.......Kindly sit down, thx...

Taylor is hated on because he hasnt in all honesty lived up to the hype so many people put on him after he beat Hopkins the 2nd time.. even though both those decsions have been disputed the fact that he won or even took 6-7 rds each fight is spectacular seeing how B_hop had been on top 10+ yrs with 20 title defenses and arguable the P4P king and ruler of a division....... Taylor's last 3 performance have not been spectacular so many are feeding off and not into what he really can do, his not dirty like B_hop yet his not as flashy as Roy Jones was, his defense is sub-par but no-where near Winkys, he has power but hasn't been devastating as late like a Kelly Pavlik... Does this mean he's hated on or people just expect more from him..... Winky Wright is a world-class fighter- Kassim Ouma is a world-class fighter Cory Spinks is the JMW champ and a world-class fighter Kelly Pavlik is going to be a world-class fighter... Jermaiine has and will beat all of them because he is GOOD ENOUGH, not because they arent.... So once he starts to get the wins THE PEOPLE want to see im sure THE HATE WILL STOP!

Oh, I haven't and I won't. I felt that Spinks was even more active. So did Manny Steward- he was hysterical in the later goings of that fight.

I was just wondering why do people hate Jermain Taylor so much? I mean he has his flaws like any other boxer but other than that whats wrong with him. So his last two fights weren't that great. So what? It seems like just because one opponent was tough and the other ran the whole damn time he sucks now. And people say that he barely beat Hopkins their first fight. Okay I can agree with that. But in the second fight he beat Hopkins more convincingly. But yet this guy sucks even though he beat one of the best middleweights out there twice. I don't get it. And the draw with Winky. That was Winky's fault. He should have jumped on Taylor when he had him but decided to bull****. So how is that Taylor's fault. Can I get some of you guys opinions on this.
