I will have to agree with hatton that he has the style to beat Floyd. But what he really has to beat Floyd is a sustained non stop attack. Floyd's wins over Oscar and Zab were very dependent on both guys slowing down and running out of steam. Against Hatton you can take that out of the equation right now. He will be in great shape in his prime and will have a weight cushion to remove any issues he may have with that. The absolute best gamplane Mayweather will hope to execute is to stay away from Hatton until the last few rounds and then fight in spots. Whether or not he can do this will make or break the fight for him.

Don't you think that the criteria to be "a great" should include beating at least ONE top, prime fighter? At least ONE?

How do you know if Hatton is a great if he hasn't beaten anyone?

Floyd fought Zab and Oscar differently. He put constant pressure on Zab, with a willingness to walk through the fire. Oscar, being a much bigger man, necessitated a more cautious approach.

Hatton doesn't have the physical size of Oscar, nor the skills/speed/power package of Zab. So I'm expecting FMJ to muscle/bully Hatton a bit early to let him know that Plan "A" isn't in effect that night.

Hatton hasn't look good in a long time. His wack hold in hit style is not going to work on floyd. He's look like hot garbage in all of his major fights. Holding is a lazyer way of running. He even ran fron urango in the finale rounds. I got Floyd with an EZ UD

If Floyd comes in with that gameplan it will be a huge strategic mistake. Hatton is much stronger than Floyd that much I am sure of because Floyd is naturally a 140- 150 pound guy. Hatton whether its with a little extra pounds araound the midsection is the naturally much bigger man. Going toe to toe would give Hatton the most offensive opportunities possible, something Floyd just doesnt do. As far as Hattons power vs Zab's. Zab basically had 3 weapons, Uppercut thrown with very good power, Straight left his money punch and a underutilized Right hook with decent power. Hatton has less 1 punch power but far more diverse options, and his power probably is not that far away from Zab's.

I expect we will see some bullying earlier in the fight, and its going to make things very interesting.
I think we will see how strong and effective Floyd can be on the inside, and this will be an awesome fight.
On the other hand, I get the sinking feeling of another possible dissapointment like DLH V Floyd was.
I think this PPV will be huge, but if Floyd puts on another performance like he did against Floyd, he will never pull these numbers again.

Well I think for this fight to end in a Floyd KO victory we will have to see Floyd prove how tough he is and that he can fight effectivly on the inside.

if you think floyd is ever gonna even come close to bullying hatton on the inside you are gravely mistaken! hatton comes in the ring generally around 156 pounds mayweather weighed in at 150 when he fought de la hoya at light middle, there is some seriously crazy opinions here, i am a huge ricky hatton fan and also a floyd mayweather fan and i just dont see this being a one sided fight, all through his career people have under estimated hatton, i dont think he is as consistent in terms of performance as floyd but ive always believed he would give floyd serious trouble, ricky hatton has brilliant footwork and a stronger and harder puncher than jose luis castillo, and also faster hands and everyone on this forum should know castillo gave mayweather big trouble over 24 rounds, saying this floyd definitely has the power to keep ricky honest but for how long? Hatton threw around 850 punches against kostya tszyu through 11 rounds expect a similar numer in decemeber. i think this will be a close decision that could go either way.

I dont see mayweather coming out of his comfort zone or moving away from a formula that has served him well over his career. Unless he senses that Hatton isnt a threat he wont change what he does, only Hatton can make him change his fight plan.
