Its not British fighters persay, its Frank Warren he is the absolute WORST promoter in boxing. Even when he has genuine top fighters he will milk them in crappy, mismatched fights.

If I were a top British prospect I would stay well and clear of Warrens tentacles.

What exactly had Hatton accomplished by his 38th fight? What was Hatton's best win by his 38th fight?
By his 38th fight he'd beaten some pretty solid fighters extremely impressively.

By his 39th he'd beaten the #3 p4p fighter in the sport.

By his 43rd fight he'd won 4 belts in 2 divisions and destroyed JLC in 4 rounds.

By his 44th fight he could well be p4p #1.

      Not too bad really.

David Haye and Carl Froch seem to be doing fine without him.

It doesn't matter about this because we will see who's the better fighter hopefully at the end of the year with them fighting each other.

Take a closer look at Mayweather's resume:

In his 22nd fight in Oct 2000, he chose Emmanuel Augustus 22-16-4, who had lost 4 of his previous 6 fights.

            His big wins:

Philip N'Dou, who we've recently seen in action, a mediocre boxer at best

Zab Judah, who had just been beaten by Baldomir, and has been KOed by Tszyu and Cotto

Jose Luis Castillo, who Hatton KOed in the 4th round

Diego Corrales, who was KOed by Castillo

Carlos Baldomir, a tough but limited and shot fighter

Arturo Gatti, an entertaining but limited and shot fighter

De La Hoya, a great fighter but was past his prime and had been inactive for several years

Ricky Hatton will expose Floyd Mayweather...

Mayweather threatening retirement? **** off, he's just negotiating a bigger payday.

Ricky's best wins: An inactive 34 year old lightweight and an inactive, super-shot 34 year old lightweight.

              Call it what it is.

Ricky didn't beat fighters. He beat NAMES.

WHO ****IN CARES?? It doesn't matter who Ricky's best win was. No real boxing fan can compare Ricky's record to Floyd Mayweathers.

If you had quoted the rest of my post, the point I was trying to make was - when the bell rings and they are facing eachother, who cares about past fights? Its gonna be 2 fighters at their peak, who hate eachother. Anything can happen, thats the point that lots of people fail to grasp.

Who were they then? I know that one of them was Castillo, but Kostya Tszyu never fought at any other weight than Jr Welter in his career.

Exactly. His wins over Tszyu and Castillo are about as good as Grover Wiley beating a faded Julio Cesar Chavez...
