Shutting someone out for 12 rounds is way more impressive than knocking them out in one or something like that, shutting someone out means that your opponent had no chance in hell in beating you, Floyd vs Baldomir/Corley/Corrales, alothough the Corrales one was a KO it was still a complete domination for 10 rounds, if you compare a shut out to a match like Briggs vs Lyacovich which one are you going to be more impressed with? Shannon knocked Sergei out when he was behind on points, nobody was impressed by that ****, it just showed that Briggs needed a KO to win and got that lucky punch on the button, big deal, it doesn't even come close to a shut out.. To answer the thread Cotto beat his opponents more decisively not because he only KO'ed them but he really put a beating on them, Cotto might lose more rounds but he really hurts you and that more convincing.. I still think beating someone for 12 rounds is far more impressive them knocking someone out, this has nothing to do with Cotto and Mayweather I'm just saying in general, a shut out needs physical preparation, reflexes, stamina, strong mind game ect..

It's called boxing. The goal is to hit and not be hit. Floyd Mayweather Jr. does it beautifully. Try watching one of his fights sometime. Seeing someone's flawless defense is equally if not more impressive than watching a slugfest win. It's my opinion. As is the answer to this poll question. It's like you calling my opinion ridiculous for calling Ichiro Suzuki a better hitter than Barry Bonds because Bonds hits more home runs.

Well you're in the terrible minority.

You're just playing opposite by picking Floyd in the poll. Also nice try on the "watch some of his fights".

I had a laugh at that.

Also the topic starter made this poll as a simple test of bias/Joke Gag.

Only a person who was biased towards liking Floyd would vote for him. It defies all conventional logic that a defensive ballerina style could be more impressive than a wrecking ball going in and taking care of business.

I voted too quickly but meant Cotto.. Although if they ever fought each other I'd pick Floyd, which is the real question. Styles make fights, two slick/defensive boxers aren't gonna beat each other down.

This poll is on fire, let me join the summer here, I read all post (10) pages, and I must say, that the ones saying winning 12 rounds is more impresive is bullshyt, because is not Cotto's fault them fighters can't hang 12 rounds with him, didn't the Magic man Paulie said he was cheering for Cotto to knock Judah out, cause then he looks impresive going 12 rounds with the demolisher Cotto? When guys can't last 12 with Cotto and a few actually do, like paulie, then that right there becomes impresive, almost everyone can go 12 with mayweather, if im about to fight, Ill be worry I wont make it to teh 12th round. And just cause Cotto has power, doent mean his not boxing, that knocked down on Judah, that was Boxing? wasnt it like a 3 punch combanation with a well placed timed left Upper cut catching Judah ducking down Boxing? Come on now, get it together.

Man Run open your eyes and recognize BOXING.
Floyd consistanly outlands his opponents, he does far more than running and any semi-logical person should be able to see that.

Its up in the air, but everyone knows it takes more skill to shutout a guy over 12 rounds than to knock him out in 2.

I don't think Chop Chop or Sosa was damaged as a fighter when Cotto got to them. I don't think Mayweather changed how they boxed or anything like that. I think Judah was damaged before he fought Cotto, AND before he fought Mayweather. So, the winner is Cotto, in my personal opinion, with no REAL credit given to Mayweather in regards to crushing them.
