According to a report in the Manchester Evening News, promoter Dennis Hobson is currently involved in very serious talks with the advisers of WBC welterweight champ Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and HBO regarding a potential Ricky Hatton-Mayweather bout. [details]

Now this is gonna be a damn good fight. With hattons pressure and Floyd's speed and skill I see this as a possible fight of the year.

So, here's what i think has to happen,

Hobson is NOT hatton's promoter, hatton is a free agent,

So Hobson will go to do the deal with mayweather, then he will have to go to ricky and ask ricky to do the fight and re-sign with Hobson promotions.

Lets hope it happens, my money is that frank warren is involved and the fight wont happen, but i hope i am wrong.

Let's pray this fight gets made for boxing & this forums sake. I really tired of hearing about the fight. I actually want to see it.

Anyone else feel a catch-weight is going to be one of the demands by Ricky Hatton? He doesn't want to fight at 147 so he might try 143 or 144 and fight for Floyd's WW belt.

BTW, I hope this fight gets made, too.

Yeah, well its obvious mayweather is serious about fighting hatton he always has been, i can tell you right now i think he is already in training, this is the kind of guy mayweather is, when these fights get close to happening or he think they will happen, he doesnt talk, he just goes straight to the gym asap.

Well if he does that, the fight is off and we know why, im not getting over excited, i have just read the whole article on hatton's forum,

                  1) No weight class mentioned in the offer............again.

                  2) It seems to be the same old $10 million hobson offer they are talking about, perhpas its the same money for the fight in vegas

                  3) Hobson aint hatton's promoter, so i think for the fight to happen, if mayweather agrees terms, hobson will offer ricky the fight, and the ball will be in his court, to make the fight happen hatton will have to

-Go up to 147, no catchweights, he weighs about 170 outside the ring anyways lol.

                  -Re-sign with Hobson

                  -Re-sign with HBO

                  -No Frank Warren Involvement.

                  -Do the fight in America

Thats my understanding of this anyways.

hatton and his team will do everything they can to make it almost impossible for floyd to agree to this, cuz hatton doesnt really want to fight floyd, so they will throw out these ridiculous screwball offers so floyd says no and they can say he's scared. real good fighter there. if he was a "champ" he would go to 147 and fight floyd there.
