LOL if Hatton broke 4 of castillos ribs, Castillo has incredible pain tolerance because he and his entourage went straight to the hotel then out to dinner that night.

I have read a few interviews by castillo and he has yet to say that his ribs were broken. Im sure thatd be the first thing out of his mouth so that people would know he isnt finished just an incredible shot.

Hmm, I kind of got that impression SteelHammer, because their accusations against Hatton were basically repeating that he holds a lot. Even if he holds a lot and goes to war at close quarters, surely its more exciting than hitting and running?

I can appreciate both styles but I know which one I'd rather watch. And I really believe this fight is going to happen and I think Floyd will come to England for it purely because of the money that is on offer with the strong British pound and the opportunity to fight at the new Wembley stadium which holds so many people.

He didn't have that much pain tolerance because he couldn't get up. Besides there is no treatment for broken ribs. Only painkillers.

tell Hatton to fight like Manny without getting KTFO then more people will watch....

Hatton talks smack too but since it's with a proper British accent...it doesn't sound like trash talking...it sounds smart

PBF isn't that boring to me and other fans cuz if u are a fan of PBF it's funny watching him dominate opponents with handspeed and good footwork...it actually looks skillfull

Punching and holding does not look as skillfull

Pacman Punches and then punches some more...that's how u do it...
A Hatton fight is always more exciting than a PBF fight. Yes, he holds sometimes but generally its a hugely exciting fight. Pacquiao is a good fighter. I watched his Barrerra fight.

I'd like to see this "4 rib punch of death" against Mayweather. Hatton and Castillo are both pressure fighters. Meaning, they both come foward and attack. Hatton looked excellent against a shot Castillo. Mayweather on other the hand will be landing straight rights, moving, shoulder roll, sneaky left hook, wash, rinse repeat. Mayweathers chin is actually pretty good if you ask me. When has PBF been knocked down? Hatton HAS tasted the canvas before. Hatton cuts easily... I'm not a Hatton hater. I like his style of fighting. But there are to many advantages in Mayweathers favor to see this fight as pretty much anything other then a lopsided win his favor.

I have to apologize for some of the Hatton haters. You haven't met the worst one yet who calls himself "!! SiN". I'll explain something:

Hatton makes some people like Gunstar feel insecure, because they want the top boxers to be black and American. So they spend a lot of time discrediting not only Hatton, but other white British and European fighters as well. Sadly you'll find a lot of that here at boxingscene, and at other discussion websites like ESB...

Hatton has shaken up the world they are used to and so they try to convince themselves and the rest of the world that he's not the great little fighter that he really is. For example, Gunstar created a thread right after Hatton's 4th round KO of Castillo claiming that Castillo threw the fight! That's really pathetic isn't it...it must have taken a LOT of insecurity on Gunstar's part to do something like that.

The truth is: Ricky Hatton is a heck of a fighter, and he deserves respect and recognition for his wins over Tszyu, Collazo, Castillo, Urango, Maussa and all the others.

I believe that if Ricky is at his best, he will defeat Mayweather if they fight in November. Then Gunstar will create a thread here stating that Mayweather "threw the fight", and others will claim Mayweather is a "shot fighter" and so on! They become very predictable after awhile.

Mayweather lost that first fight against Castillo and everyone knows it. Mayweather won't get away with all the dancing against Hatton because Hatton will rope him in by holding him or just pressuring him.

I remember when Hatton got knocked down. I watched the fight. Eamon Magee threw a mad swipe and managed to catch him clean but Hatton got up and dominated him for 8 more rounds like it never happened.

About the punch. Didn't Castillo's 360 twirl in reaction to Hatton's punch and subsequent inability to breathe tell you much about how hard he hit him?

I agree Weebler - Hatton is much more exciting to watch than Mayweather. He really doesn't clinch any more than most boxers do, but because he's always moving forward and punching in close, he's actually causing his opponents to hold him, in order to stop his effective body punches.

Hatton's style has a lot to do with his short arms - it's impossible for him to be effective with jabs from the outside. Because he's always at a reach disadvantage, he needs to fight on the inside, where he has learned to be very effective.

If a boxer is getting hit or is about to get hit...he either clinches/holds or he moves one way or another....this is 9 times out of ten...

why do so many people want to criticize a fighters defense....

fans criticize boxers' blocking, clinches, or uses his feet................it's defense...

they aren't supposed to just stand there......
well Mayweather is taking the fight because of the publicity thing.

as for Hatton clinching, any fighter woulddo anything to win but it makes his style less exciting and that is a fact.

as for Hatton breaking Floyd ribs you should see how Floyd's defense he cover his body with his arms and his chin with his shoulder. Floyd would counter Hatton easily ann at 140 he got the power to hurt him

YEAH RIGHT man ....holding is part of his gameplan....

I can understand when it's a Southpaw vs Orthodox and there's holding...

sometimes Hatton doesn't even punch and he goes for a hold...every single fight..
