Just like Antonio said on the first page Steward has never shown Bernard much respect. I don't think he considers Hopkins as a great middleweight. And Jermain is Steward's fighter. Who knows.

From all acounts I've read, Manny had a great amateur career. Something like 80 fights.

ANd as for his training skills. They are legendary...remember his famous Kronk gym???? Mccallum, Mclellan, Hearns, Taylor, Lewis...the list goes on.

I don't think Hopkins looked terrible. Its hard to look good against Winky and it was hard for Winky to look good against Hops. Just a bad style match up like you said^
