If he defeats Valuev, Vladimir will likely get a title shot. He already deserves a shot more than some people who've had them, like Ray Austin.

Virchis is a much better opponent than Bergeron for Valuev, it should be an interesting fight.

        what's with the ifs?

Height is a natural gift advantage, just like power, speed, etc. and Wlad was blessed with it and uses it along with his other skills to win (Speed, power, hand-eye coordination, etc)

Being tall is not enough, actually being as tall as Wlad it's a disadvantage.... come on.. most people over 6'5 SUCK!
They can't get their body to coordinate with their head!

Speed can be taught and IS taught...power is taught and IS taught. I believe chins can be taught too. Height cant...

The difference w/Vlad giant size is hes got athletic genetics for being a giant. A 1st for being seen in boxing. Most guys that size...ala Valuev are big square bodys. Vlad muscle bellys arent typical for his size. He has a genetic advantage we've never seen before. He is smart anough how to use things that normally might be called mistakes to his advantage...he does hold a doctorate right? Coupled w/Steward, this is magnified. That half jab is a boxing 101 no-no...but its effective for him cuz of his reach. He doesnt need to chamber up...understand what I'm saying?
Rarely do you see him really commit to a punch...but he and Steward both know that he doesnt have to cuz of his size.

Tyson was a much better HW. He was @ a disatvantage and used the skills he drilled over for years. His ensemble required athletic ability. He was tougher and fought better opposition. Imagine a young Razor Ruddock against Vlad from 90'? See You City! Tyson ruined fighters...Vlads losing opposition want him again...Tysons didnt.

/\/\/\ Sorry mate, but thats rubbish.

To discredit someone because of their physical gifts is retarted.

I mean it makes no sense. He fights like he fights because he is 6foot6, Tyson fought how he fought because he's 5foot10. Lewis fought how he fought because he was tall aswel.

Every athelete tailors their style according to their physical attributes.

So I would school Micheal Jordan in ball if I was 6foot6 aswel? And the only reason Jordan can take any of us on a ball court is because none of us are his height?

****ing bull**** and you know it.

Not one respected sports analyst will ever use something like this as an excuse.

BTW Virchis might be the first to actually knock Valuev out.

nah! muhammad ali fought the way he fought because he was the height he was? bull****! people don't fight the way they fight due to their height it might be a factor but people fight the way they fight because it suits there attributes eg. power, speed, endurance watever ..... they fight the way they fight because thats their style height alone counts for little when you put all the deciding factors together on how a boxer fights. A top world class level boxer should adapt to his opponent.

So WTF is wrong with Wlads style then?

He's a lean tall boxer, one look at him and you know he can ****.

He has power in both hands to knock opponents out north of 250lb.

What do you want him to do? Fight like James Toney? Go in there with a phily shell defence or start dancing?

How else can the guy fight?

How would you fight if you were six six?

Wladimirs attribute is being tall, dumbass I frankly have no idea whats the difference. Who cares if someone is bigger than others? It makes no difference! A good deal of Heavyweights are just semi-fatties that ought to get in shape and fight in the Cruiserweight division if its so 'unfair' that theyre smaller than everyone else.

Anyways...Ive heard Virchis is pretty good, well see I guess, I never put much stock in Valuev in the first place because I heard he lost to Larry Donald and I thought he lost against Ruiz, but whatever. I think it would be interesting to see Wladimir go against someone who is much bigger/taller than him, just for fun, especially since all the other belt holders are tied up at the moment.

besides, these two are pretty highly rated by the IBF, bypassing the guys that Wlad already beat...
