Nikolai Valuev Returns on September 29

Former WBA heavyweight champ Nikolai Valuev will return September 29 and it could be in a EBU title fight against Vladimir Virchis. The fight has July 30 as the deadline for purse bids or agreement. Virchis´ manager Oleg Hug wants his man to be moved towards a world title but the question is what the promoter, Universum, says. The powerful and strong Ukrainian has a good chance against the giant Russian.

thats another fighter who can knock Klitschko out. Would love to see how Klitschko does without his size advantage since everyone says he has perfect jab, etc etc...

I don't think that Valuev has the 'goods' to beat Wladimir Klitschko but I do think that Valuev would be a great opponent for him; it's to bad that he's taking this fight and not 'lobbying' to fight Klitschko.

Your blind hate for Wlad is sad.

Valuev is far from anything special, Wlad would hand out another one sided beating.

I put Klitschko together with Valuev and Lewis in the Superheavyweight category as it's not really fair he fights such small opponents.

I agree. It would be entirely one sided. Wlad could possibly even knock Valuev down!

Beating Valuev in impressive fashion would be a very nice win for Klitschko. And I’m not so sure this would be a ‘walk in the park’ for Wlad like his recent bouts seem to have been. As we all know, Valuev has a huge size advantage that could give Klitschko some problems.

In any event, I would love to see Wlad KO this guy; it’d be a spectacle….

There is no "super-heavyweight" fighter out there who has even a moderate chance of beating Wlad today.

There are very few fighters out there in the divison today that I could even invision giving Wlad much of any trouble.

Chagaev showed how easy beating Valueve is for somebody with a good jab, and power. With Wlad being as big as he is and have all of the tools he has, I'd easily expect him to stop Valuev anywhere in the 9th or 10th rd.
