People like to diss him, but this guy is for real, he's no bum. He lost a close fight to PWill and had he started a little sooner may have scored a draw or the win. He’s good for boxing too, he’s recently fought three relatively, young undefeated fighters(P Will, Cintron, Hercules) and two guys with just one loss. Floyd hasn’t fought another young, undefeated fighter in 7 years. So why hate on a guy, who’s fighting real competition, guys that can provide real challenges? 147 is boxing’s deepest division at the moment and Margo is in the top 10, if not top 5. He could have avoided PWill for a much bigger fight with Cotto, when was the last time a champion did that? So you gotta give him his props.
he's in the top 5 on my list. i dont know that people like to diss him, but its jus people say he can beat any welter and that is untrue. he is a good fighter but he isnt the greatest in the division...

Not saying they would have won, but it would not have been a cake walk to beat them. In addition to their size, they have unique styles that maximizes their natural advantages, using their height, reach and jab.
I cant see Wlad giving Cassius Clay problems, but i know what you mean, seems a fair point, lewis certainly wouldnt have much a of chance against clay, all that hiding behind the jab crap would get found out against clay who had better reflexes, quicker jab, and more power.

        But yeah overall good point.

I agree and give him his props. Going into the fight I thought he was extremely overrated and the P Will fight he showed some good defense and actually figured Williams out a little bit and got his punches in and made the fight competitive and had a chance at a draw when it looked like in the beginning he was going to get washed out. Williams was just better than him, but I still put him in the top 5 of WW's. I just got tired of all the Floyd ducking Margarito stuff, so that's why I was happy he lost. I gained respect for him in the P Will fight for sure.

            3. Williams will make for a tough fight for anyone at 147

Williams is so unique and unorthodox, he would give anyone fits. He has his flaws (leaky defense, gets hit, doesn’t sit down on his punches), but he masks them very well with his style and volume of punches. I think he will be avoided by the other top guys at 147, not because they’re afraid of losing to him, but because of the difficult challenge he will present. It will be a grueling, taxing fight to beat him.

Agreed. Apart from a Margo rematch, he is going to have a tough time getting another big fight any time soon.

I've heard a few fans saying he was the flavor of the month, blah, blah, blah....
but I think he will be avoided because of the tough fight he poses for anyone... i do believe the one guy that will have his number is Cintron... I don't think he can beat Cintron getting hit like he does...

Lewis and Vitali could hang with any era. Wlad, VERY doubtful considering who has knocked him out and how easily he goes down. You look at Lewis and two of the biggest bombs ever dropped him. He even got up from McCall's shot. Lewis could hang. Vitali definitely too because of the great chin and power. Wlad, I really don't think he's anything more than a contender in other eras.

Margarito is one of the top welterweights if by top you mean top 10. He's definitely not top 5.

I don't think anyone other than EvilSaint doesn't think Williams will be a threat to the 147 pound crown. He says Cotto breaks him in half with body shots. Maybe, but it won't be a walk in the park for anybody.
