Immediately after the fight, Arum said a rematch between Margarito and Williams is in order, adding that he was thinking about Shane Mosley as the next opponent for Cotto. However, at the post-fight press conference, Arum said he would not abandon Margarito, and is still considering the former WBO titlist as an opponent for the popular Puerto Rican.
Wow,thats the biggest joke i have heard today,Margarito wasnt close to winning

Marg won 2 rounds clearly and the other 2 I had him winning was only because of a late round flurry.

Mosley, on the other hand, is a good fight for Miguel and will present a challenge with someone he can actually fight with. Margarito would've been a great fight because of his style, and the same goes for Mosley.
This "style makes fights" is bull****. Winner gets next...bottom line. And the current winner is Paul Williams. Too much hating in boxing especially from Arum. One of the benefits in winning is being able to choose the next best fight. I call bull**** and hateration.

Nobody had promised "winner gets next," as you say. Margo was getting Cotto if he won (as he's an Bob Arum fighter) but, if he lost, Arum never said Cotto-Williams was next. He always said he'd explore the options. It's not bull****, it's business.

I bet more people want to see Cotto-Mosley than Cotto-Williams.

Or he could just be Margarito's promoter.

People need to realize there was NEVER a deal for Williams to fight Cotto if he won. He's not promoted by Arum.

With the right hype from HBO and Arum...people would want to see Williams vs Cotto....Yes, you're right Mosley vs Cotto could draw more PPV buys...but like every other sport...the Winner should have some incentives...at least he should get the winner of Mosley or Cotto...Williams should get some credit and hype from fans and boxing authority after wiping out Magarito which could improve his PPV chances...but instead he is already getting bashed and hated on (not sayin by you)

what more does Williams have to do?

Just make Cotto-Mosley happen, forget about Williams. Paul simply outboxed a guy who Cotto would've KO'ed. The fight with Mosley is a bigger money fight that makes more sense for Cotto right now.

look at it like this, Arum is pissed because PWill ****ed up his money, a fight between Margarito and Cotto was win win for him because he promotes both of them so that's nothing but money in the bank, but now he's just going to have Cotto fight Mosley and split the money with his newest best friend Oscar, that way if Cotto looses he can always go back and fight PWill to try and get Cotto a belt back, but if Cotto fights PWill now and looses what is the incentive for Cotto to fight Mosley then? there will be no belt at stake, and the public would rather see a PWill - Mosley match, as Cotto will be on the back of everybody's mind.

On point. Williams should go after Cintron's belt.
