He still connected double of what Marg did. He got outworked plain and simple. If he fought a solid first half of the fight maybe he would have gotten the decsion. Marg didn't start connecting until the latter part of the fight. Marg did block some punches especially later on. But Williams was still connnecting. And he landed that jab when he needed to.

He's no different than Ricardo Mayorga to me. Incredible chin + wide looping punches will give you some W's when you can overwhelm the guy but not against top tier opposition, which is why Margarito has avoided it this long. He wanted to cash out against Mayweather and instead got whooped by his mandatory. I am satisfied.

No, I've been saying it for years. Everyone doubted Margarito but now they know. Cotto is still a great champ and now Tony gets the recognition he deserves. Haters sit down!

I know Margarito is tough but still has long way to go for his legacy with his age he need fights that makes him.

rematch with Paul Williams and Santos then go up at MW to win a title is a way to cement you legacy for sure

but still I feel he is abit overrated but he is good

He does not have to fight Santos again at jr middle. He is now the welterweight champ. By moving to jr middle, he is giving up much of what makes him a formidable welterweight (like what we saw before). His size and toughness are not as dominant there. He does have to fight the Punisher again though. He needs to lay claim to his new status and he needs Paul to cement it.

I saying he is good but still not quiet as people would make him out to be.

Overrated doesnt mean that he is bad but I dont rated him higher than other people rate him.

If he beats Paul in a UD then a triogloy.

But beating Santos at Jr MW is alway good, now Santos is also a champion getting a belt from another weightclass is rarely been done

yeah ure right it was a clear lost by margarito.BUT, it was margarito who beat himself for starting to slow against williams. Williams was active, but not at one point did he came close to hurting margarito. williams on the 11 however, was ready to go down. just imagine a rematch. margarito would destroy williams, now that he learned his lesson.
