That was like 2 days ago. As of last night, Maskaev refused to fight Peter. Why didn't he refuse the fight back in, I don't know, MAY? I hate Maskaev for this.

That's crazy then, I don't think I've ever really seen somebody flat out duck a mandatory like this, poor Sam Peter getting shafted.

Like this is the very first time they've ever played politics with the matchmaking.

Well, I mean Lewis refused to fight his mandatories, but they were CHRIS BYRD and JOHN RUIZ. Not exactly threats to knock Lewis out or even win for that matter. I don't think anybody gives Maskaev a snowball's chance in hell against Peter. I don't think he can survive 4 rounds myself.

It's fine to drop your belt when your mandatories offer nothing, not even a threat of beating you. I'd respect guys like Wlad a lot more if they dropped their belt rather than fight bums. Fight the best instead.

But Peter is going to knock Maskaev out, and Maskaev knows it, which makes this downright sickening.

I know that, but like this...usually they say it's because they already have a fight set up with somebody else, he just flat out doesn't want to fight Sam, that's just cowardice to try and find any loophole to hold on to that belt and milk it.

Good Maskaev will get KTFO in the 1st or 2nd, Peter is going to go in there with the wild looping hooks and forget all the training he had accumulated from the Toney 2 fight, when he was actually looking like he was getting some skill with a jab and some straights, Peter knows that he is scared of him now and will try to rush him from the opening bell, expect a quick nights work for big Sam. After reading all this crap I wouldn't be surprised to see Oleg take a big shot and lay down much like Buster Douglas did against Holyfield.

So you say. Me, I pick Oleg to beat Peter just like he did Rahman. I think that Rahman was a better fighter than Peter. Who has Peter actually beaten? Yanqui Diaz was his biggest win, plus two wins over a fat Toney.

Sounds like you're making an excuse for mass-murder to me. As for the way we opperated in Vietnam, it was no different than how ANY country operates when engaged in a shooting war. Including Britain in WWII. Your beef is with WHO we were fighting; namely your Communist buddies. It never ceases to amaze me how many fellow travellers the Soviets made in Western Europe over all those years.

Now you're accusing me of being a communist? **** off, you're clearly a typical dim witted yank.

This is my last off topic post BPP.

                    2. Samuel Peter (28-1)

At long last, his mandatory shot against Oleg Maskaev is good to go this fall at New York's famed Madison Square Garden on Showtime. Peter is the big favorite, but unfortunately for him, much of the boxing world instead will be focused on the competing HBO PPV card headlined by the rematch between Manny Pacquiao and Marco Antonio Barrera.
                    Next: Oct. 6 vs. Maskaev.

                    3. Oleg Maskaev (34-5)

His promoter, Dennis Rappaport, continues to file frivolous lawsuits in an effort to derail Maskaev's fight with Peter, probably because he knows it's the end of the line for his beltholder.
                    Next: Oct. 6 vs. Peter.
Maskaev is up ****'s creek without a paddle. Look for a repeat of the Jeremy Williams KO.
